Sorry if I upset some people. As I said, it doesn't sound bad, I like my initial 5-6 songs I've heard. It was just very different from the image I had in my head of them with the mask and headlining Download. It reminded me of the vocals on Don Broco.

 

I should also add, I think it's great the festival is giving someone new a chance and sounds like they have come a long way fast from headlining Radar Festival to now headlining Download. I wish them well.

 

You're not the only won who listened to them and expected something different.

This forum, and the Download one, mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. It’s such a tiny amount of people. The real evidence is in the anount of tickets being sold. To think a band like Sleep Token can sell 130,000+ tickets and those people won’t want to go to a festival is silly. They will. 

On the bigger scale of that, I can tell you that festival sales at an own gig doesn't automatically correlate to a festival crowd and something whereby a much bigger cost is involved.

I know Serena through the roller coaster enthusiast community. She's very talented, kind, selfless and an all round fantastic person, often putting herself out to do / arrange things for others, despite her very busy life. I really enjoyed their last album, and listened to it quite a lot, but shockingly, have only seen them live through video!!! So I'm looking forward to seeing Svalbard a lot.

Try and make the effort to go and see them, it'll be worth it, I promise!   

Great band. I don't know them personally but I have friends who do and say they are all very nice people. Good to see Download finally booked them!

Falling In Reverse just announced for Nova Rock.

Spiritbox announced as main support for LP so Bad Omens aren't there.

 

It has been heard at least as said, however false that FIR, MM and Bad Omens are still to come as second stage, Korn day and sub respectively.

 

There is no reliability factor over what's true on this. MM is the one I'd doubt as I wouldn't see a space.

FIR would be a waste of a slot so hopefully they're doing Warped Tour instead, Bad Omens seem unlikely as they're yet to be announced for any EU fests and the same for Manson.

I forgot about Warped Tour. I can imagine some of the bands booked that probably took some away from Download an many will be very Green Day like. Literally wouldn't surprise me if they rope in NOFX for an absolute final hurrah.

It's very close but they could easily be playing Sunday which gives them 3 days to get to Washington and sorted. But their tour would be a reason for holding them back.

Am I the only person a little perplexed about Lorna Shore's placement on the 1st poster?

 

The website had them on the 2nd Stage along with Within Temptation, Sex Pistols, The Darkness and Steel Panther, but they're considerably lower than all of those, being placed between two presumed 4th Stage headliners.

 

If we cast our minds back to the 1st announcement for 2024, you had Thy Art Is Murder and a logo band who ended up being 4th down on the 2nd Stage. 

 

If we follow this logic, maybe we have more logo sized bands left than most people assume?

Manson is required to attend a civil trial in LA throughout June 2025 where he's being sued by a former assistant, so summer festival appearances would be unlikely as he needs to be in court.

Network error fetching the style sheets that make the page look... not like that.

 

You'd think they'd learn to store them locally when the whole forum was in italics for a few days for similar reasons!
