Usually I think people hyperbolise about bad experiences at festivals, but I can safely say it was a complete shambles. Leeds fared better than the south from what I’ve heard, but only marginally. It’s not a great sign when you’ve got people queuing for 5+ hours to get into the car park for a single day festival.

Worst experience I’ve had was Leeds Fest 2019 when it was 30°C+ all weekend and they ran out of free water at the pumps plus water/soft drinks at the bar. Feeling dehydrated? No problem, here’s a warm Carlsberg. £7 please!

Unfortunately we are talking about the worst run festival in the country.

NorthernSoul52
Slam Dunk Leeds was a bit of a hodgepodge this year, but made the long trudge out east instead and got my ride there. Ended up being an inspired call, given the circumstances.

NorthernSoul52
If the southbound track underneath the M1 was open to public access, I probably could have been at the services there in twenty-five minutes. From there, home is a little trickier thanks to navigating the waterways, but it would be doable for a ride.
lukecork
Seen something online from Ticketmaster regarding Cardiff Castle but can't for the life of me find it now. I'm sure they was teasing some form of emo gig that will be announced at 10AM today, anybody seen anything similar / any ideas to what it could/shall be ? Posting in this thread just incase it is a potential Download band for 2025.
NorthernSoul52
Somebody was talking about it in another thread not too long ago, but yet to see it myself. You'd assume it would be the kind of band Download would go for. Will say that if Linkin Park and MCR tickets were to go on sale this week, there would be a lot of very panicked people looking forlornly at their wallets. callum97
If Bad Omens don’t play this year, I’m sure they will return as a headliner next time. I think they are one of the next bands to get the bump, they would probably sell nearly as much tickets as sleep token if they did an arena tour here.
northernangel
Muse announcing dates over Download weekend would suggest they were going to tour but decided Download was not going to be one of the places.

Contender for AOTY for me Not sure if it knocks off (pun absolutely intended) the new Knocked Loose record for me in terms of heavy releases, but it's absolutely outstanding! "the center's falling out" in particular had me pulling all kinds of nasty faces. So heavy.

LazyDavid
I'd be happy with Falling in Reverse, Knocked Loose and Rise Against as the bigger bands in the next announcement Thinking of going Camping Plus this time round

NorthernSoul52
MCR being around and Download missing out on them feels quite like a blow.
TWY2911
Are there any bands that are likely for the second wave? I haven't been on this forum much since the announcement so haven't seen anything I personally think the lineup is 1 or 2 bands away from being a solid one for me so I would love Deftones or Creed

No reason for me to have held back Deftones or Creed. No suggestion of Creed coming over here from other posters either.

Could potentially be a shout for Download on the Sunday?
NorthernSoul52
Creed would be great fun, but have to assume they are not getting the offers financially from booking agents to make them interested in a tour, let alone a festival run.
