I reckon Falling In Reverse will sub Sleep Token or headline 2nd when Green Day are on. Spiritbox for 3rd down main on either Korn or Sleep Tokens day.

Only Spiritbox and Motionless in White alongside the headliners. The RiP/RaR announcement will definitely be a bigger indication of who we might get! Weird looking forward to announcements from festivals I'm not going to

I think  that's just a festival thing with people on here that do them year on year. Most people I know outside of here don't even consider when an announcement is, it just comes when it does.

Interesting both Rock AM/IM have one headliner still to announce, especially as the Nova Rock headliner is the Thursday night which would make them a potential for Download Saturday.

Bearing in mind that nova only shared 1 headliner in 2023 and 24, RAR shared two in 24 which were not first choices all of them but only their sub was a Download headliner in 23. I think at least one of the festival's is going to be Korn and could well be waiting for Hellfest giving its one of, if not Europe's premier rock/metal festival and them headlining that would be big for them

Nope, 1 sub and 1 headliner to announce. The other bigger closing options are announced.

That was mind point if needing to go sleep. Yes so Download are sharing Korn but RAR have a separate option. Could well be Linkin Park I could if they want to do European announcement in one go. To be honest, The Prodigy, Slipknot and Linkin Park is a trio I'd be happy with I think. I've barely got any undercard apart from Friday though.

I reckon we’ll see something very similar to this. I do think we may get Slayer and/or The Prodigy too but it wouldn’t surprise me to see Alice Cooper or Rob Zombie either given the Sonic Temple lineup. Think we’ll get all the Friday and Saturday main stage bands.

I can see Frank Carter & the Sex Pistols subbing for a few reasons: name value, the fact Green Day don’t need a huge sub so Download can save some money and I can also imagine Green Day specifically asking for them. - could be wrong and they play further down the line up though, we’ll see. 
 

I was torn on whether to include Deftones, Bad Omens and/or the Prodigy, but the first two don’t have any indication of European dates yet and I can’t see where the Prodigy would fit if they want to play in the dark. (Unless Download allow Apex & Opeth to directly clash again) 

 

Edit: The Prodigy could probably still headline the main stage as a ‘smaller’ headliner, they’re probably on par/bigger than Korn. So they’d be better keeping them for another year in my opinion.

Yeah, I’ve been coming round to the thinking they might do it. Just depends on who else is going to be about.
 

I think if one of the blanked out names on the RAR/RIP poster turns out to be Bad Omens or Deftones then we’ll potentially have one of them as a 2nd stage headliner or sub.

 

I think we’ll defo get Bullet For My Valentine and Falling In Reverse taking up 2 of those slots. Then potentially The Prodigy and IDLES. With outside chances of Slayer, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and either of the two you have mentioned that we don’t know about yet. There’s also a possibility that Download try for The Smashing Pumpkins, Avril Lavigne and Weezer on exclusives but they’ll cost a lot. But could see some of the money saved going towards one of them and Slayer if another big headliner pulling out was true tbh. And if some of those decide not to tour then an easy option would defo be Frank Carter & Sex Pistols. 
 

It’s also possible Bad Omens could support Linkin Park whatever they end up doing in the UK.

A support slot for Linkin Park in the summer followed by their own huge UK arena tour in the Autumn/winter (100k+ tickets) is probably a smart move. 
 

We’d be looking at them in the headliner discussion for 26/27 then.

Decent reasons. It's one of those where Download need to cater the Green Day to them but I think Bullet have enough crossover to. The Prodigy have been on this tour long enough now for Download to have had two chances, I don't see it. Given it was apparently their favourite UK festival too. Opposite ST or Korn would be ideal but have you to cater second stage better.

I don't think they've got any of those exclusive. Avril co-headlining Hurricane which I know is smaller and subbing Nova means sub is where she would play anyway. It would need to be higher for exclusive I feel. I think there is a small outside chance of Weezer.

 

Bad Omens could well be the difference on LP tour to ST festival. Different bands to still sell.

That's in America  while having Metallica twice and a reunited Linkin Park come back. They shift tickets there they don't here.

I think I'm in the minority by believing that Korn are absolutely big enough to headline Download. We've all complained about the same acts over and over again headlining with no bump-ups. They've been going around 30 years. Pioneers in the nu-metal genre. Iconic as f**k. Riding a nostalgia wave. Have done more than their fair share of "waiting" to headline. Have played arenas and outdoor shows. They are really f**king good. I don't really see the issue. 

 

If they aren't for you, they aren't for you, that's why other bands play at the same time or you simply don't have to go. Korn are big enough and, more importantly, good enough to headline.
