Something must of happened for Download just to drop them as they were on all the advertising till today

It’s bigger than that. Live Nation are a major investor in Liquid Death, so this decision will not be Download’s to make. I suspect they’ve just made a decision to tone down the branding, but it will still be the only water available to buy in the arena.

Not bad. I don’t think we’ll get Deftones or Judas Priest though. I also don’t see Bullet subbing Green Day.

I would be surprised at Judas Priest. Out of all the subs we would think there is more chance of currently happening, Bullet are definitely the one I'd say I'd prefer under Green Day. The only other one is Rob Zombie. This is just based on name drops.

@Frankly Mr Shankly been said by someone connected to who does the merch than Deftones are below ST. I won't take it as gospel but it sounds like the person who name dropped isn't just a random. I didn't expect them back so soon. I feel Bullet would be a lightweight choice to go under Korn as a sub...they aren't a big sub at all in my view these days and name would be carrying it more than warranted position. They could be second stage headliner but I've just ran with the information that's actually been said rather than guess.

Deftones to sub Sleep Token you say?

Interesting.

One of those bands who I just kind of assumed were "about" the same size as Korn in this day and age, along with Limp Bizkit, so fascinating they've retained them as a sub when the former are getting the leg-up.

They are the same size, korn are headling due to a pull out. They can't do that twice in one year, hencevthey went back and offered ST more incentive. Can you imagine GD, Detones and Korn jesus. You can't have a Crystal Palace Park headliner playing to 15k headline even a reduced 75-80k event.

The point is that it's fascinating Korn is the one they've chosen to leg up. Others, like Deftones and Limp Bizkit, might well have held out to see if they'd get a crack next year.

I would never see Deftones getting it and to be honest before their return and playing I don't think LB were really seen as it. Korn were that one that a lot of people always said for years deserve it or they should just get it etc. As much as they asked loads of bands for this year, it's pretty obvious where the bookers felt LB sat as there would have been plenty of opportunity to say go on then. I do think LB with any of those out at the time though would look weaker than it would with Korn there.

Deftones aren’t as a big as Korn and it’s not even close. I love limp Bizkit and they are a global band but I don’t think they have headliner appeal, I don’t think they have the show the for it…

it will just be 45 mins of music along with 45 mins of random chit chat.

The compromise for Deftones could have been made that they sub but are allowed to do another show the same month. I’d be surprised if they do both though. Shows already sold out in London so could be possible.

Heres my final prediction before Tuesdays announcement. Based on educated guesses, rumours and bands that are around.

If it was close to that I would grab a Rise Against ticket later on for London and a Friday ticket here. It would be cool to 'tick' Rob Zombie off but I literally want to hear Dracula. Sunday is really far away from anything for me.

I still think we're getting Slayer either as a sub or 2nd stage headliner, probably instead of Yungblud as I imagine he'd headline.

Are Lorna Shore a "showing my age a bit" band? Genuinely never heard of them.

They've blown up in popularity after changing singers and releasing their latest album.

Had one of the sets of the weekend in 2023.

Sold out a decent UK academy tour in super quick time last year and will have new music on the way. Another band who gained a lot of popularity through part of their song being used in TikTok. FWIW, I think they’re brilliant. They’re a symphonic deathcore band whose vocalist is a FREAK.

Not a chance, Slam Dunk have booked per what that festival is actually there for. It's borderline worth the price but so is everything these days. The social media reaction has been great too.

Except for this year, I think It’s the weakest lineup they’ve had since I’ve been going (2016) .

I'm surprised with that from you. I would have thought the bigger bands there given what I've seen you like would be ace. I would say its better than 2017, 18 and definition 2024 edition easily. 2019 I would say is the lineup since 2016 which I was say was clear of it.

I think they are the definition of when Download call themselves the 'Premier Rock Festival' yet target mostly metal of some sort. Terrible band for me.
