Coke seems to have annual weird promo drinks. They did one with DJ Marshmello that was strawberry/watermelon flavour, which sounded a bit much, and of late there's also a Christmas Cinnamon Coke Zero, which sounds awful. A friend said Oreo Coke was dreadful when he had that the other week.

 

Reminds me tbf of when I went to Truck Festival 5 years ago and they had free samples of Coke Energy as a sort of Coca-Cola Red Bull. The fact it's discontinued hints it wasn't a success.

Nothing says rock n roll quite like a tour sponsored by a cat food brand huh.

 

It is quite something tbf how he is playing Dublin in the perfect (or should that be purrfect) R&L warm-up slot, but even account for how pop-like Reading & Leeds have got, you'd be surprised if that was the threshold they were willing to cross.

That makes much more sense, they book more family friendly names and they seem to have more budget these days so you may well be right with that

My guess is that Download were close to having MCR at one point but then they booked their own US tour dates in which meant they could no longer do Europe early summer so FR booked them for R&L instead because they are able to come to Europe for August festivals after wrapping up their US tour.

This has just shown me how reliant the strength of the lineup is on Foos because this doesnt look like a good set of headliners at all for me but I've never been an MCR fan.

 

Quite concerning that when Foos get taken out it looks less strong though given we dont know how likely that is.

i tbh agree. i want foos to be there badly, but in my head:

 

dave drama -> foos drop out of R&L -> as @Andre91said, MCR annouce US shows -> FR move them from download to R&L to become this years 'legacy act' which was originally foos (Blink 2024, Killers 2023, Rage/Arctic Monkeys 2022 etc)

I don’t think MCR would be a replacement for Foos if they’ve dropped out. I think that will be someone else.

100% could see @Andre91 being right with that assumption especially if Foos are out because of the Dave stuff. Would still have preferred Foos for myself but could see that being the case.

Yeah I couldnt see Foos and MCR both on an R&L lineup together in 2025 doesnt feel the direction the festivals heading.
