There's no way they've got Queens of the Stone Age unless they literally can't get any other acts.

Doubt we will see QOTSA back at R&L again unless something massively changes and 00s rock music becomes the in-thing with young people. They got a mixed reaction at Download (put on an excellent headline set, though); they would be met with utter bemusement at R&L.

I remember the crowd taking a liking to Queens when I saw them do a secret set there in 2017 but I'm aware crowds in 2017 are of a different vibe to 2025. Such is the passage of time innit.

I thought them subbing Foos could've been a go-er, not least given Hellfast had a Foos-QOTSA-Royal Blood triple header last year.

Surprised no one has suggested chatli xcx as a contender. Imo would be a dead cert. My punt / guess.

Headliners

Tame Impala / Charli XCX / BMTH

Subheadliner

Lorde / chase & Status / halsey

Chevron

Pinkpantheress / Architects / Jamie XX

Tame Imapala and Charli would be phenomenal. I know BMTH would be a good shout but they're not my cup of tea. Replace them with another rock act or with a rapper like Eminem or Kendrick and I think that would be one of my favourite trio of headliners this festival has ever had personally.

Of course I know it's now unlikely Charli will be there and there is no chance Tame Impala will be either

I can see them being at R&L, just not a headliner. They would go down well as a sub on a day with a rock headliner I reckon

Charli's presence at Parklife makes me think she's a lower-tier headline option, though of course, The 1975 have done both on the same cycle.

Either way, think she's a likely sub contender or Other topper at the G too.

I think she will either headline Other or sub Pyramid at Glastonbury and not be at R&L.

The 1975 did in 2023, admittedly they were replacing Lewis Capaldi though

Sort-of counts but obviously unintentionally and I think it was after Parklife that Lewis dropped out, leading to the '75 continuing their role as Reading's Plan B headliner.

Think BMTH, Chappell Roan, Eminem seems to be a consensus of 3/6.

First year I’ve thought there isn’t an obvious “indie” headliner for a while after Catfish/Liam, Fender/Foals and AM

Would’ve said Kasabian or Courteeners potentially but obviously both doing Truck.

Fontaine’s could do it, but obviously have London dates and will be a year on from Romance.

I don’t mind the Pulp shout tbf

You've got Kasabian, Courteeners, Royal Blood, Strokes, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, 21 Pilots, Sam Fender.

Sam Fender is probably the best shout for an indie headliner in a year he tours a new album, and they struggle with bookings.

Post Malone is probably the most likely rap headliner, still draws a huge crowd based on his earlier hits and had headlined twice already.

Foo Fighters is still the most likely for a rock headliner, it's random people on a forum saying they're dropping out.

Sam Fender is a bit soon, no? He only headlined in 2023. Think he is more likely to add more stadium shows or play Glasto.

Travis or Eminem must be the most likely rappers to headline, although personally I do edge towards Em. Em has history with this festival and has cross generational appeal.

I see no reason why Foos would drop out? Is this all due to his cheating? I don't want to sound crude but who cares? It is a scummy move from him but how is that relevant to playing a festival 12 months down the line? They are probably the most likely rock headliner alongside BMTH
