I've thought they might turn up at TRNSMT and I don't agree with the person that says they wouldn't do BST, especially if they're focused on fests, which seems to be the case.

I mean, Muse have never played Hyde Park - I think I read they were offered it in 2007 but when they got the offer to open the new Wembley chose to do that instead. So I was wondering that maybe they were in a phase of their career to tick off milestones they haven't done before, and Hyde Park I guess counts. Even if I dislike Hyde Park as a venue as I find it too quiet and would rather go somewhere else.

Their day didn't sell out in 2018 i don't think at either site?

The bigger issue though is that they won't do much for weekend ticket sales i think

Would've been difficult for Muse to sell out their day in 2018 when they were there in 2017.

Saying that, not sure that sold out either. I know they did in 2011, which is why I had to get a second-hand ticket to go, but that was a f**k of a long time ago ofc.

I think that for all they still have a healthy enough UK fanbase, it would probably need a strong second-head/sub.

EDIT: Well Reading themselves said it sold out at the time. I thought it and the Kasabian day didn't but maybe memory's defective on that one.

They’d sell tickets but unsure if it’d be a sell out. You’d imagine most who want to see them would have seen them 2022-2023 possibly multiple times (anecdotal based off myself and my mates, I must admit). I wouldn’t be too arsed if they were there unless they shake up the setlist and don’t tie it to the WOTP tour.

So if we assume Muse are there...

Post Malone / Hozier

Eminem / Central Cee

Muse / Chappell Roan

What about Biffy Clyro in some sort of slot? I could see them playing seeing as they are playing a few European festivals

Depends if they’re ready to drop below 2nd headliner. It’ll have to happen at some point as they’re not at their peak anymore, but you’d imagine they’d hold out for a little longer and try for another arena run / TRNSMT / IOW etc before considering lower slots at major festivals / doing the mid-sized Superstruct circuit.

I’ll bite… 2nd down to who? As many have said CR and BMTH would be great

She is 2nd down to the rock act, as far as I knew it was Foo Fighters, but the rumblings that they dropped out and were replaced by Travis Scott, but those could be the mumbo and I wait for Dan Hancox.

Central Cee into Post Malone.

Is Dan Wilcock okay? Or has he grown up past posting on here? Does his pub still exist? He hasnt posted info in years.

He was definitely in the 2024 thread around the time the lineup was released. Can’t remember if he leaked the lineup, mind you. I wouldn’t mind another sh*t sandwich

Just checked, he became active 21st November 23.  The lineup was released 2 days later.

He didnt post any news other than 4/18 to a predicted lineup. Those 4 were Blink, Fred, Wombats, Raye. He knew the lineup then. But didnt give any other info.

He was last active here last December.

Ah yeah that rings a bell. I tried going back but I’m useless at navigating eFestivals! I wonder what year he last leaked a substantial amount of the lineup? I seem to remember he fed us a fair amount of the 2020 lineup but not so much 2021 or 2022.

I think he's just aged out of it tbh, the blokes nearly 50. In fact looking now, the last one he gave names for outright was 2022, he gave us Halsey, Arctics, RATM, BMTH, and made us guess Megan the Stallion and we collectively sh*t ourselves when we realised it was true.

2023 he lied about Yungblud but didn't give any other names and then just bowed out to giving a number of correct guesses in lineup predictions.

Drones is probably their 3rd or 4th best album for me so that in full would be incredible

I have mixed feelings on anything after Resistance tbh, a Drones live show would be made worthwhile for me to see Reapers and Handler live I guess since I missed that tour

I’d be really happy with this. I don’t listen to Hozier much but Muse are one of the best live bands, I adore Eminem so much. Hate Central 😂 Posty with his current music nowadays will be class too. And Chappell is taking the world by storm. Yeah hope it looks something like this.

Think the only thing I’ve heard off of Drones live is (Drill Sergeant)/Psycho, but I did get into Muse fashionably late circa 2020 and have only seen them live from 2022. But agree, most stuff after Resistance bar Drones and a few tracks off WOTP is a bit meh

All coming back now!! I remember losing my mind at the thought of RATM, AM and BMTH. If only RATM didn’t pull out, I think that would have been an all timer for me in terms of headliners (didn’t care for the other 3 but didn’t feel I had to haha).

Unlikely to repeat so soon from 2021 i think, I know thats fairly long for many acts but for a older rock act thats a pretty recent repeat.

They are also meant to be at glasto

The 6 above have still got the huge issue with most of whats being posted in the lack of any indie headliner. There's no way they go from 3/4 this year to 0 (1 if you count hozier at a massive push!)

It'll be the Drones 10th anniversary at least 🤣

Eh. I like Reapers and The Handler and both were highlights when I saw the Drones Tour in 2016.

God I am so sat for the entire rendition of the Globalist

I'm still puzzled as to why they played that at Glastonbury 2016.

Even more puzzlingly is that it was probably one of the better songs of the show watching from home.

Question for those in the know of the state of modern rock music:

Are there acts coming through that will shoot to be headliners, that will be the legacy headliners?

I don't mean acts like BMTH and Catfish, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, Queens of the Stone Age, Fallout Boy, Kings of Leon, 21 Pilots who kind of just floated to the top with no opposition after 10-15 years active, but will never be the name that sells tickets.

Nor acts like Nothing But Thieves, Idles, Don Broco, Fontaines DC who will always drift around in the late afternoon spots.

Nor acts like Royal Blood, Yungblud, Wet Leg, Wolf Alice etc who are at their peak of zeitgeist, who will never be more in the public discussion, so will never go higher than what they get now.

I'm talking about your next act that will have us clamouring for tickets still in 20 years:

Linkin Park - Headed 2003, 2 years after breaking through.

Green Day - Headed 2004, the same year they broke through.

Foo Fighters - Headed 2002, 5 years after breaking through

Arctic Monkeys - 2009, 3 years after breaking through

Muse - 2006, 5 years after breaking through.

Oasis - 2000, 6 years after breaking through.
