Not everyone will agree but I think for the price the lineup is pretty shocking and a sign of how far the festival has fallen.

The undercard is diabolical for a festival of such stature - you can easily see better undercards at fractions of the price (see Superstruct).

and then the headliners! A couple of them wouldn’t have even subheadlined even 5 years ago!

I do struggle to understand what people see in the lineup other than a huge waste of money.

It’s almost like band’s get bigger over 5 years, Travis Scott is literally the biggest act in the world at the Minute, Bmth are a full fledged headliner and even 15 years ago r&l took risks on headliners like Roan

I know the line up never really goes down well on twitter, but Jesus Christ 😂 read the replies to R&Ls post on twitter, people HATE it.

Online people hate the lineup drop every year. I think the last time the lineup didn't get internet hate was 2013 (Green Day, Eminem, Biffy + SOAD).

From kerrangs article

"Speaking about their return to the fests, Enter Shikari say, “It’ll be great to be back at Reading & Leeds for 2025. We’ve got a long history with the festival, having first played in 2007. We’ve set records for the amount of crowd surfers over the barrier, and the amount of sets played over the weekend, so it’s awesome that we’ll be back again playing our highest ever slot on the bill. Right now, it’s looking like these will be our only UK shows of 2025, so we’ll have to make them count. We’ll be like uncaged animals by then.”

Beautiful stuff.

Travis Scott is 9th biggest artist in the UK, behind Taylor Swift, Drake, Kanye, Eminem, Billie Eilish, Weekend, Sabrina Carpenter, Rihanna.

In the US he's the 8th biggest artist behind Taylor Swift, p Wallen.

He hasn't had a hit song for over 3 years here.

I must be really really old and out of touch at 39 because that's by far the worst Reading and Leeds poster I have ever seen and by some distance.

No wonder Glasto tickets get harder and harder to acquire every year that goes by when dross like that is being served up elsewhere.

Victorious have a stronger lineup than Reading/Leeds which is mental.

Fully with you on everything, but tbf a chunk of kids will surely go just to hear Fein live. that song has been quite inescapable on corners of social medias. maybe not a chart success but def big online - it would've been out for two years by the time R+L comes around though. i'd argue Chappell, Hozier and Travis Scott all have one recent Big Song (Hot To Go! and Good Luck, Babe; Too Sweet; Fein)

You have no idea how massive Travis Scott is with the youth. I teach in a secondary school and I already know that tomorrow him coming over here for R&L is going to be the hot topic of conversation. He is one of the most well-liked artists I’ve ever seen with 16 year olds. Trust me, this is going to be the biggest booking they could possibly make for 2025. Mark my words.

Anyone arguing that Travis Scott isn’t one of, if not the biggest booking the festival could make (on a bloody European exclusive, no less) is delusional as all hell.

Likewise with my year 11 class, they were immediately looking into the festival when I said that I’d heard Travis Scott would show up.

MCR, FOB, P!ATD

I don't recall FOB being bottled. I was there in 2006 which I believe was their first appearance at R&L, and at the height of the anti-emo sentiment and I remember they actually went down well with the crowd while the other two did get bottled.

But the lad lives in Doha, why wouldn’t he have 100% fact news about a festival in the UK?!

Didn’t he also say that he got the info from KSI? Why on earth would he know who was originally meant to be playing, on what day and position, and then who dropped out?
