They were billed as 3rd down in 2014 but it was on the day with QOTSA and Paramore as co-headliners. So in reality they played 4th down.

If they are playing third, It would be quite the stretch for Shikari to claim that this is the highest slot they’ve ever played, if the only difference was that last time they were third to co-headliners and this time they are third to a single headliner and a sub.

Would assume Becky Hill is the Chevron headline on that day but Enter Shikari could be the chevron headliner maybe? And they could argue that slot is higher than 3rd down in 2022.

They aren't dancey though?

Becky Hill, Rudimental and Sammy Virji make sense as the Chevron trio unless someone else is added

I think what's most disappointing for me is that none of them are the big name.

BMTH we all agreed they were about big 3 headliner size, but should be propped up by 2 other bigger name acts as they don't have festival ticket selling status yet.

Chappel Roan when we first heard her name, we all settled into how she would make a perfect 2nd headliner ala Lana Del Rey, and we all thought her into BMTH or Foos or Muse would be most pertinent.

The second Travis Scott was suggested by @marinotarino54 we all groaned and said it must be bullshit because its a terribly off-course booking. Possibly the most hated rapper in the world right now after his diabolical Astroworld catastrophe. Hasn't had a hit since before covid, is completely unrelevant and just stands on stage hyping up his tracks played by a DJ (and I say that as somebody that still enjoys TS).

I'm thinking now that every other year we get a poor cheap lineup, then a great one. Hopefully the festival will come back swinging next year when everybody is available again.

Blossoms subbed 5 years ago

Give your head a shake if you think the headliners are smaller than them 😂

Royal Blood and ADTR as the other two - Chappell is miles bigger than them

Twenty One pilots subbed on that basis. Blossoms were 3rd last on that night

Who’s the equivalent this year? The Kooks, AatS and Wunderhorse?

I think the main point is though that this is only the first release, they’ll no doubt be holding back some bigger names for some PR later on down the line

If Enter Shikari are second though that’s a bit of a piss take, they’re arguable smaller now than they were in 2009 when they played 6th (admittedly drawing a huge crowd)

Fein by Travis has over a billion plays on spotify and that’s relatively new though. Certainly not coasting on old success.

I wouldn’t call Travis unrelevent, he’s selling out stadiums in Uk and worldwide and Fein is one of the biggest songs of the year

You really cannot complain about the "size" of the three headliners. Chappell like her or not is absolutely huge. Arguably one of the biggest music stars in the world and certainly the hottest atm. Travis Scott is a stadium selling artist and BMTH have a big legacy and are huge themselves.

You can moan and pick holes all you want, but they are absolutely massive headliners.

Travis Scott was Spotifys #6 most streamed artist in the world for 2024.

If we’re now at the point where that isn’t considered popular or relevant enough to headline then they might as well cancel the festival now.

Travis Scott is clearly not irrelevant. He's an absolute knob but he is definitely relevant.

As others said - Fein.

Being on a train back from London full of fans who'd been to his Spurs stadium show did make me think there would be an appetite for his stuff.

I'd been across town seeing The Killers, I add. I wasn't even aware he had his stadium show until then.

Muse are going to be ethier doing a few routes here. I know there recording as they’ve been seen going in and out of Air Studios with Dan Lancaster but this could just be warmups for the Middle East. I did think there was a chance they could do a warmup show in the UK but there flying at the moment so that won’t be happening now. I don’t think Muse will ever fall from Headline Status. I think there going to be one of those bands that could always announce 2 nights at the o2 and also do quite big venues but couldn’t do a Wembley anymore. Saying that if they did 1 show and it was just Wembley I recon they could do it. I do agree ST and WOTP weren’t strong. The simulation show at the O2 that was filmed was incredible live. I mean at the end of the day they still sell out stadiums and are more a legacy band now. I do hope this album is f**king insane and maybe a big more commercial but I don’t think it will be. At the end of the day the boys have done it all. They got massive very quickly and are still massive. There a band that will always have a big enough fan base to sell out pretty much anything within reason as they are a stadium arena band. I mean when they do a small show they sell out quicker then anything. Next year I don’t think they will do a festival I think it’s going to be a like a one of show or maybe a request show.
