Alternatively to Foos - Paramore? Stock has risen so much supporting on Eras tour.

I was going to suggest Muse as a Foos alternative given they're likely to be around next year and haven't done Reading in a longer timeframe than Foos.

Paramore is a good shout though and in fairness I thought there was a possibility it might happen this year given the Eras stuff runs through to August. But obviously not.

ive also wanted to say. with everyone saying foos is very likely...may be stupid but why are we so sure?

I'm not so sure tbf. They're a possibility but I feel like the possibility of them taking time off is not zero either.

Watched IDLES set at Glastonbury last night and they just have to sub next year. Setlist was amazing (and then you think of the songs they didn’t play!), crowd was massive and fired up and the band were phenomenal. They’re clearly big enough to sub R&L; look at the size of the tour they’re doing this year, the vast majority of which is sold out already. IDLES under Foos would be great.

Dua has just announced a Wembley show next July, out of the running we reckon?

Was just coming here saying that she’s out.

If we’re getting a female pop headliner, I’m going with Doja Cat now.

Could Disclosure come back and headline? They’re back to playing all of the instruments live which is awesome; it’s what makes them so great imo. If I remember right, they didn’t do that in 2021? They were just behind decks.

I think they’d be too big for the Chevron?

Get The Vaccines next year.

It's been a while since Jimmy Eat World did a late afternoon main stage slot.

Said this the other day, behind the decks in both 2021 and 2016, as well as when I saw them at Ally Pally 2022. The live instruments can surely bump them to out and out headliners.

Has the ship sailed on SZA at Reading after last night?

I can’t see them booking SZA after that.

Was she really that bad?!

I was only watching from home but it seemed like a massive swing and a miss booking to me. She had not just the smallest headline crowd I’ve seen at that stage, but one of the smallest full stop. Year after year I’ve seen bands playing at 2-3pm with far bigger crowds.

There was huge sound issues all the way throughout; I don’t know if she was supposed to have that effect on her vocals but whatever the reason for it, it just took you completely out of the set.

Visually, it was really impressive, but I don’t think she’s got the songs to play a slot like that. She was originally supposed to headline the Other Stage on Friday, supposedly, and that would have worked much better.

I can’t see her getting booked for R&L.

It is a different demographic, she was (with hindsight) a terrible choice for Glastonbury, I still think she'd be a decent ticket shifter at Reading if Doja Cat etc (i.e. sub Eilish/ Rodrigo level) is the bar.

It does again highlight how tough it is for them to get people in now, with big acts now doing their own stadium events, which in turn just suck demand away from the festival.

A weekend in London seeing Greenday and nothing but thieves in a well served stadium, or more money to stand in a field and spend the day listening to a boat load of other stuff your not interested in...

A Doja/ SZA co-headline set would get people moving I reckon but then leave the weekend ticket rockers twiddling their thumbs...

They really are up against a rock and hard place when Dua Lipa can play stadiums
