Replaced by Legendary Tigerman, who got bumped yesterday. https://amp.expresso.pt/blitz/2024-06-08-primavera-sound-porto-ethel-cain-cancela-palco-vodafone-com-programacao-b046b9db
Yokai
Hard to blame the festival on this one, but seven international artists not able to perform would be ok in Barcelona, but with the reduced line up in Porto, it really feels lackluster cuz there are not many alternatives. At least they are announcing the Vodafone stage, so it seems we will be able to watch Pulp.

Dropouts like Ethel Cain are beyond the festival's control, but the likelihood of those dropouts occurring is why festivals can't afford self-inflicted screw-ups with stages seeing other acts cancelled on top of that. Especially in a context where the festival was both truncated _and_ more expensive this year.
FKA SOSOTWS
Frankly, it seems like a no-brainer to always pick BCN over Porto based on this year. Also because you get so much more music options at Parc Del Forum. 1
Yokai
So I'll write a small wrap up tomorrow, but what a rollercoaster. It had some terrible downs (the biggest one was Justice and the muddy mainstage after the rain), but really enjoyed the shows that were able to perform.
flowernigiri
Only went for The National (front row) so I don’t have a clear nor valid opinion on the festival as a whole, but it felt like a carcass of what it once was. Both in organization and spirit. For my money’s worth, the festival will not be in my plans again

I mean,Barca is also double the cost, so that's not a fair direct comparison imo

What a shame. Got a few videos of the Vodafone stage getting taken apart at the middle of the second day, pretty unprecedented IMO VID-20240607-WA0018.mp4 VID-20240607-WA0019.mp4 I elected not to come along to this in the end but f**k me I'd have been so mad if this was what I'd been greeted by had I made the trip to Portugal. Extraordinary stuff, and their characteristic refusal to explain or apologise just makes it worse. When were these stretches? 7pm, 8pm? Between primavera Barcelona 22, primavera Madrid 23 and primavera Porto 24, the "brand" has taken a battering.

To go against what your own festival communicates on social media is also ridiculous (re: stage issues)
Paul E
Whilst still inexcusable that they had to close the Vodafone stage for the day, have you seen the lighting rigs Justice are using at Glastonbury? Never seen anything like it!
