I know it's abit left field but would they book a band like Bring Me The Horizon?

Would be a quite big stray away from recent band bookings to be honest - its basically just larger very generic/mainstream indie bands for headliners

Yeah I thought that but out of the heavier bands they're definitely the most accessible. I'm not saying they should go out and get them but wouldn't be a bad shout for a wildcard.

I think they would be very low down their list to be honest - Boardmasters book from a very diverse pool, they will defo have better options

Kasabian

The Prodigy

Central Cee

This trio is a fair downgrade on recent years to be honest

They seem to try get at least one international act now, with all three of these being on the smaller side too for a Boardmasters headliner.

Maybe swap Central Cee for a US rapper - not sure. I think you could strengthen one of the other two as well, not really sure who though

They literally had 3 British headliners this year

fair enough

That trio is still missing a bigger act though - prodigy and kasabian aren't really impressive sellers nowadays, nor is central cee.

Where's the Sam Fender, Liam Gallagher etc?

Have Biffy Clyro got enough crossover appeal to headline this as the rock/guitar based act?

A lot of wishful thinking on these forums for other Superstruct events like Truck where they're probably still too big, but Boardies could be the right size and something new for them to play. Could be a package type deal after playing Victorious last year.

I would say no. Sure, many people might know 2 or 3 off Only Revolutions and Opposites, but I’m not sure the wider interest would be there for them. Then again, Kings of Leon did it. Many people probably only knew Sex on Fire and Use Somebody, and as a band they’re boring as owt. At least Biffy would put on a cracking show.

Edit: I’ve never been to Boardmasters so I’m basing the above off the fact that I think the target they go for is what, 16 year school old leavers? Correct me if I’m wrong.

Yeah that's the similar debate I was having myself. I'm somewhat local to it in Falmouth but have yet to go as I've got the same impression of the target market (although have been close to a day ticket once or twice). I guess there's a bit of a leap between Sam Fender / Liam Gallagher / Kasabian type acts and Biffy, and it's just whether that's a step too far or not.
