2024 New Music

Was enjoying listening to the new Lemon Twigs out in the sun yesterday. Sounds like they've gone from 70s yacht rock revival with their last album to 60s pop rock revival. Sounds so much like if you mixed a mid-career Beatles album with an early Beach Boys album. It's done really well though and i'm liking it.

Yeah, both their new albums are great.  Two of them in less than 12 months too.

Yeah two really solid releases. I think Everything Harmony might just about clinch it for me but i'm liking them both.

Jack White snuck his new album into customers bags at TMR stores and told them to rip it and share it! It's unreal as well, his best solo album yet.

Completely missed this.

Entering Heaven Alive is one of my favourite albums of the last decade or so.

Anyone who's enjoying the new Charli XCX (I've not actually listened to it yet), should listen to her producer A.G. Cook's new album 'Britpop'. It's 3 discs long, and each one has a pretty different theme to it musically. He goes from a interesting PC music style to indie folk and then more experimental stuff. Personally I enjoyed the 2nd disc the most, but the 1st one is pretty fun too.

Agree with the Waxahatchee shouts - she has racked up a seriously impressive back catalogue now. Not a duff album but still continues to outdo ourself.

Waxahatchee fantastic last night in London, played all of Tigers Blood, and the majority of Saint Cloud, plus a couple of the Plains songs from the 2022 album.  So nothing pre-2020, but then the band was not really set up for that.  All the newer stuff is brilliant anyhow and tight band too.

No idea, not even sure it'll get a proper release (hoping it will as I want it on vinyl) but right now it's being shared around the internet so you can get your hands on it for free. Seems he wanted to subvert the current industry standard release methods.

Ideal for a sunny  afternoon on the pyramid.
