So the official Glastonbury Twitter pic has just been changed to this…. What does it mean?  Is it a Sky Full of Stars?  Is an announcement imminent…?

Yeah - it's the change that's interesting, not the image. Shows that there's a wee bit of life behind the scenes.

A change in branding is probably the beginnings of the 2024 comms plan, which obviously will include Announcements!

I had a dream the first poster was released on a Thursday morning in early January so taking this as a portentous sign, set your alarms for tomorrow. 

Though the headliner on said poster was former Newcastle and Man United striker Andy Cole, so probably doesn't check out.

maybe they've realised that having a five day "Wireless Festival" is actually a bit sh*t and they are going to try to put on a proper Glastonbury again?

Maybe it portends a parting of the ways with Stanley Donwood given this logo predates his work with the festival and it's usually him that does the design?

this would be no bad thing - i have disliked all of the artwork of the Donwood era... i dont know what it is, cant really explain it but theres just something about the style that just always rubbed the wrong way with me.

I tend to agree. It's a bit samey. Would like to see a range of artists get an opportunity every year. It would be interesting to see some different styles applied to the posters and imagery. That alone would improve the god awful merchandise designs, but that's for another thread.

I quite like some of it, but the Spooky Lane Of Trees vibe from 2014 was very clearly rejected Radiohead artwork..

Gosh I remember this old logo. Fond memories 🙂  Love it that we are so starved of information that we are all speculating about a new twitter/X image. Not related but adjacent point, would be happy if they came off that particular platform.

That would seem feasible given the change of year, although it's odd that they would have changed the X image before the TOS image 🤔

Perhaps we're going to see a full re-branding of TOS too.....
