If she doesnt have to go through any kind of election- leadership or general- maybe. But cant see her winning any form of popularity contest.

 

A leadership election tomorrow would be a toss up between Ange and Wes, but hard to know the makeup of the remaining rump of the labour membership. Ange probably slight favourite still even given the shift Weswards in recent years.

 

But by 2029 who knows.

She's slipped into her government roll well and seems resilient.  Her speech yesterday seemed a bit prime ministerial - she's a better public speaker than Kier for sure.  I'm interested to see how she develops up to 2029.  Can't see Kier going anywhere before then. Unless he keeps randomly saying sausages instead of hostages. 

 

I like Angela but she doesn't strike me as a possible future PM.

Could argue that the early announcement of cut to winter fuel benefits just before summer recess and months before a budget was a PR disaster and a massive political error that they're struggling to recover from.
