There's been a steady flow of people leaving twitter for the last 12 months, and a sudden increase following the US election. Guardian is just part of that.

growth lower than forecast due to Reeves/Starmer scaring the sh*t out of everyone with their budget warnings?

Ultimately though this is not good for this government...they've put everything on growth, they're off to a bad start, the forecasts weren't great anyway, and now Trump will likely f**k it up some more.

it's the next quarter that's important.  I didn't expect anything to be better just by them walking in the door.

It actually fell over the 4 month period. September was -0.1%. Could be in recession if they don't turn it around.

Think the problem was all the doom and gloom uncertainty leading up to the budget...now we have all this investment which might improve things...and they'll hope the NI rises don't bugger things up too much.

Reeves appears to have been caught lying on her cv too. Described herself as an economist when she actually worked in the complaints department at Halifax/HBOS.
