The point is they are sticking to the Tory policy, the policy that does not work and does not have the money spent....... so if they do what is needed then they are changing the policy.

it's a new policy...expansion of free child care. How can you say it doesn't work when it hasn't fully happened yet?

Because half the places they say are now available are not now available and because child care providers say it is not working.

Hopefully that is good enough for you.

No, sorry it isn't. Labour will say they will continue with the policy of free education for under 5s doesn't mean they will continue with the sh*t execution of the policy. It is like saying Labour will continue with the NHS, not necessarily the same sh*t NHS that we are currently getting.

this is the expansion of free child care to all under 5's. Sounds ok to me. They just need to make it work, spend the money etc.

Its more than spending money. It's about enough staff to deliver it. Will probably take ten years to run the DBs checks. If they Found the staff. Staff would wander off to other jobs.

It is nothing like the example you just gave. The NHS is a who big complex thing.

This is one single policy we are discussing and Labour's shadow minister said they are sticking to the Tory plan. Nothing else, just that. If that is not good enough for you then perhaps you need to contact Labour and ask them as all I am doing is reporting what a shadow minister in that party said.

If you don't like what they are saying oir do not believe it then maybe find a different party to vote for?

Labour need to make a commitment to the plan cos otherwise the childcare system will fall apart and need to be rebuilt and labour would be blamed for f**ked up child care, And all the problems that would cause in people's lives.

Also the optics would be dreadful heading into the election with headlines like ‘Labour taking away free childcare’.

They won’t want to allow the media to run with that narrative.

eh?

I am saying it is not a bad thing with sticking with this policy. You seem to think Labour must do something different.

Yes I do - cos the ;policy is as said by child care companies and professionals, not working.............................

You seem to want to carry on regardless with something already shown to be not working in the hope it works.

Labour are saying they will now carry on with the policy AS IT STANDS despite those who are trying to provide it telling everyone it is not working.

Not sure what part of this you are finding tricky to understand................. experts say it is not working. I trust experts to know and therefore say it needs changing and therefore carrying on a policy that is not working is daft.

and they should not let that happen................... but changing to simply say they will keep the Tory policy that experts say is not working and will not work is equally as daft.

Last week they said they would review the whole thing - that review is now gone and replaced by just keeping the policy.

and all cos they seem scared to get bad headlines based on lies spoken by the Tories.

How about saying keep the policy while we review and improve it?
Why did they not say that?

just can't be arsed with your forever I am right you are wrong shtick.

I think you will find I was telling you what experts have said after you said I was saying it.

What is so hard in saying we will keep the policy as it is WHILE we review and improve it?
Labour could have said that but chose not to.
Why?

I often can't be arsed with your comments and throw away remarks - so I don't bother with them.

You replied to my post and said things, I responded. That's called debate.

Don't want to debate, don't reply to posts.

Perhaps put me on ignore.

Today the Green Party launched it's local election campaign in Bristol.

I wonder how many posters will be seen out there over the next few weeks now that they have actually been distributed?

Local elections

Today the green party offered Impossible dreams. rent controls will cause landlords to sell up same as Tory tax changes did and less rental properties means higher rents. It was the Tory tax changes that sent rents sky high.

Today the green gave us bullshit, are you smart enough to know when a politician is lying

Claiming more affordable housing without a way to do it is bullshit.

Rent controls will push rents up by reducing the number of rentals.

Bad headlines based on lies have screwed Labour in the past. The Tories had already started saying Labour will cost you thousands in childcare. In an election year they have to neutralise that attack. Even a proposed review would be used against Labour.  The Greens don't alway mean what they say, they accepted stuff they had campaigned against to go into coalition in Scotland.

I think you'll find that's how coalitions generally work.
