Is that the same Rachel Reeves that backed the BOE raising interests rates to curb inflation?

Obviously it is and it is on record that she did back them even speaking at Labour conference on the subject.

not sure she's arguing against interest rate rises to bring down inflation...

She’s arguing against the Tories methods to try to bring down inflation which have hurt the economy. Eg they got rid of the winter energy payments last Autumn and various cuts on help for people in poverty; the Tories knew this would increase the risk of recession but they prioritised bringing down inflation over growth.

Bristol turning into stab city at the moment, two recently within 200 yards of my house, by kiddies dressed in black on scooters, scourge of Bristol right now.

1/4 of voters say Starmer has failed on Labour anti-semitism

The data shows that:

Good progress/tackled: 29%

Failed to tackle: 23%

The question is what would the polling be if RLB or Nandy had won the leadership, my guess is it would be worse under RLB, not sure about Nandy. I struggle to see a leader who would have done significantly better.

What would it take to admit that perhaps, even in a small way, that Labour might not be handling many things that well at the moment or could that never happen regardless of what they do or don't do?

So it was all part of his plan when Labour backed the candidate and sent out leaflets to houses in the area and then later backtracked under pressure? Don't be ridiculous.

The reality is as a politician you are going have to backtrack on occasions, the same will be true if he is PM and is the same for politicians all wings of the political spectrum. To expect someone to get it right all the time is unrealistic, you just hope they are right more than wrong and manage the backtracking in the least damaging way.
