NI Cut to a nurse just starting on £22,383 - £392 a year

Capital Gains Tax Higher rate cut (28 to 24) on SECOND HOMES on a home sold for £500k profit - £20,000 less tax, 51 years for a nurse to get that much!

That's Tory politics in a nut shell.

and Labour are keeping all the changes.

Hasn't Hunt got multiple properties ?

yeah, and an exposed lying problem, denied that viginia borttomley was his aunt, bottomly also gave hunt's company a huge contract (that's hunt's claimed business success), and her constituency seat.

New scheme to be announced in 2025 - so never

I read it as "to be implemented". I think they're wanting to a do half-arsed version with workarounds for their mates to stop labour doing it properly. I do think they'll be trying to get something through.

Well well well, the Tories are increasing taxes again.

I know it's a lovely attack line but I wish people would stop using it. I want the narrative changed away from "taxation is a bad thing".

They said yesterday, and again this morning on numerous interviews that they would retain all tax cuts announced and 'find money in other ways' to meet their NHS pledges.

They have not, as far as I have heard, specifically said about CGT but I am sure Starmer will be out doing interviews.

I sincerely hope they pledge to reverse this at the very least.

Taxation is fine - it is how the money is used and who pays the largest percentage of their wealth that is often a bad thing.

Tax isn’t a bad thing at all but when the Tories try to claim they are cutting taxes it’s good to point out that they actually aren’t.

When tRuss did her ill fated budget the financial markets collapsed........

Yet since then growth has stayed stagnant and now we are in recession.
Also borrowing is higher as % of GDP than it was then
Tax cuts announced in October and now are more than those tRuss announced.

and yet financial markets seem happy.

Is the the reason it all went to pot in Sept 22 that there was no OBR report with the budget and nothing much else?

It all seems rather odd to me

christ's sake...at some point labour are going to have to say that we actually are going to have to reverse this sh*t...

Just as I said earlier - I really have no idea what they are doing if they keep ALL of the cuts.

Are they really THAT SCARED of anything connected with tax rises?
