Ah yes, but the probability has changed.
Assume that the 36 are spread evenly over the entire queue. Then only a certain number of these 36 have any real chance of getting tickets. Once those that could get tickets have got their tickets, that's them done, they won't be able to continue to get tickets. So there is a high chance that some of those in big groups won't get tickets.
Whereas before, not only did all 36 have a chance of getting tickets, those that did get tickets could keep trying. There is also a slight advantage in that the people in big groups knew how to tip the technicalities in their favour.
I'm sure somebody with A level maths could work out the probabilities. But certainly, the probabilities have changed.
It's not too strong, you would expect at least that. I'm not bothered for LP at this point really, it's just not the same deal. I actually don't even know if I'd go and see it now as I feel I'm almost going to just see Mike get a group together to cover their songs.
'no reason' - Seriously mate they've been one of the biggest metal bands for 30 years now and have a huge fan base. Sold out nearly 40K tickets touring the UK this year well before the gigs were played. Have one of the most recognised setlists in the entirety of hard rock and metal.
Yes. Not to the extent of bands like Metallica or Green Day. But they headline alot in North America and Europe, and do the occasional elsewhere.
Well for one they pulled a bigger crowd than the headliner in 2022.
They've released another well received album and done a very successful 30 year celebration tour that sold out well before the gigs.
Ahhh happy memories! I always take my kids from toddlers in 2002 to adults now…mud and all. But it was a lot less crowded then and I think a lot more easy going. You would definitely not want to be getting in the heaving crowds leaving big sets these days. But my lot have had their minds enriched by the experiences they have had, so wouldn’t have missed it for the world. It’s not just about managing to get them around, it is a huge learning experience for them.
