He chose to do a small tour for this run and then bigger venues in the summer (and seemingly festivals too) Whatever way you look at it he’s a big artist and he’ll only get bigger with the tour, new album and Glasto/RW headline spots Not every artists gets to the same size in every country, he's not a Wrchter headliner, he's a saving money headliner. He actually makes the top like we could have dent quite a bit.
Archi
Really surprised to see him headline. I guess we could have a strong Saturday with a co-headline like 2022 (Imagine Dragons - Twenty One Pilots - Yungblud - Maneskin - Sum 41). Not excited and a bit disapointed like many of you. Let's what they have for us next week 🙂

They booked Yungblud, Maneskin and Sum 41 in 22 with the former two reversed to each other the same day

gingerevans84
Feel like whenever a festival brings up a new headliner, they are never big enough. So in that regard do you want the same people over and over again or at least try and create new headliners.

You can also only book who is around and the major acts are preferring to do their own tours these days, even Glastonbury has struggled the last couple of years. Of course we need to wait a few more weeks to see the final headliners and a pool of acts but So far I’m struggling to see who people actually wanted who is available. Hopefully that random name will appear

Based on this year, u don't think people would have chosen Maneskin more than a co-headliner even though he does well in Belgium. They certainly won't have Lenny so maybe settings sights too high. I don't believe this though can't be bettered unless they've got two/three others that really cost.

Its quite dangerous for a festival like Werchter to give a shot at an up and coming headliner(ticket sales). It's a festival that's all about headliners and lineups. It's why Werchter has so many repeats down the years. For example multiple repeats from Pearl Jam, KOL, Editors etc. Guaranteed ticket sellers. Will Fender sell out his day, questionable unless its a strong day. For festivals that are more about the 'festival' experience it's easier to get away with. Festivals like Glastonbury, Roskilde or Sziget isn't solely aimed at lineups. Roskilde and Glastonbury will sell out anyway. That being said I'm all for different headliners, I have little interest being the likes of foo fighters/Metallica/Green Day and the likes. I do get that but you also can only book what’s around too. honestly I think in a couple of months it’ll look like a great booking and will have a good sub under to help sell tickets (plus it’s the most popular day in Saturday so I reckon it’ll do fine) Hopefully they stick Linkin Park on another day and then in all honesty they could stick Beans on Toast on the final day and I’d be happy 😂

Haha yes from what I've seen those bands at the bottom aren't your cup lol 1 hour ago, sisco said: I do get that but you also can only book what’s around too. honestly I think in a couple of months it’ll look like a great booking and will have a good sub under to help sell tickets (plus it’s the most popular day in Saturday so I reckon it’ll do fine) Hopefully they stick Linkin Park on another day and then in all honesty they could stick Beans on Toast on the final day and I’d be happy 😂 To be honest I don't think from my view anyway Linkin Park makes it look better. It's not the original band afterall and not just the leader singer is missing. They really need to pull something big out the bag next and after Sunday the European leg of the LP tour is done. I think they currently need to go better than that. If they booked Fres now with LP and not Olivia that's going to look weak.

I'm trying to find options to make going there for the first time. That's almost my worst outcome. I don't even really care if LP get booked or not because it's one of those ill have to watch it but it's not the same.

I’m not really sure what people expect from the headliners if I’m honest. Take @northernangel 2 days ago he was defo going and now Sam Fender has been announced it’s the worst thing in the world 😂

As I thought he was a shoe in for Primavera. I'm seeing him next week in Manchester, but planning on a festival he plays.

As an Israeli, it is my impression that over the years, artists in Caves magnitude don't really suffer any consequences due to their support. Few headlines and mainly weirdos on instagram. Thom York is still getting booked everywhere for example. Nah, these are the smaller acts that suffer. I remember Lorde and the xx got sh*t for planning shows here at early stages of their careers and were forced to cancel (unlucky me, as I had tickets for both).
