Thought you believed Supre who was saying the wrong dates?

Anyway… as always people can believe what they wish.  That’s why other places are better.

No I very much believe K2SO was likely right when he first mentioned it. He's not someone who comes with rubbish and was willing to bet a fair chunk of money on her not doing Friday at the G. Obviously you can be slightly swayed by other things enough to question by compared to Supre no.

Yeah he’s very good with his info tbf.  Him and BSR are defo the ones to ALWAYS trust on BST.

Best announcement so far in my opinion! Now we only need Paul McCartney to be announced as Thursday headliner;) But it might be Linkin Park instead...

Honestly she’s great.  Took my daughter to one of her shows and she blew me away

Excellent, another new headliner for people to moan about even though they asked for different artists to be booked 😂

Whilst I get your point, I think people have a right to complain if a Disney pop star is headlining a festival called Rock Werchter. I know it's a point which comes around annually and they can only book what's available but it's obvious that this would be a booking that divides opinions.

(Please note I am just playing Devil's Advocate, I don't mind either way because I don't know enough of her songs. I thought Driver's Licence was a great song, thought Vampire was absolute whiney trash. Will give her a listen a bit more but I imagine it's a definite ticket seller of a booking either way)

Superb headline slate thus far, something for everyone

ya it’s a bit on the pop side but the last headliner should be a bit heavier

Be surprised if it’s not Linkin Park now.

Also is it interesting that unless I’m reading it wrong or missing something Olivia Rodrigo isn’t actually listed as closing the stage (like the others)

I've always thought BSR, mcfcok, K2SO and roughbloke as the one's from knowledge. Also actually Ken and there is one more I can't think of.

I think Fender just still brings this down so heavily. LP on the Thursday to be honest wouldn't even be a ticket grabber currently for me.

I'd be surprised if she isn't closing the stage. After this year a Fender, regardless of opinions on that, he isn't closing a stage and she isn't.

Also to add, Green Day press release doesn't say they will close out either, just that they headline the main stage which is a case of anyone that is headlining or co-headlining.

We shall see, just found the wording interesting.  Both of the others start with closing out the main stage, hers is headlining.

Feeling for Olivia aside, this is shaping to be an extremely disappointing edition- if they had to book her, Sam and Green Day (which I love, but isnt really the hottest band in the past 10-15 years), it feels like they really didn't have many options

So what do you want? Old is bad, new is bad… are there any other options?

Anyone got any song recommendations? Never really listened to her apart from the song that sounds a lot like Misery Business by Paramore.

Half of her repertoire are slow ballad songs, other half would be Brutal, Obsessed, Good 4 u, Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl, Love Is Embarrassing, Bad Idea Right?

As quoted above too, her inside press said headline just like Green Day's does and theirs doesn't say they will close either but we know they will. She's headlined two nights at Sportspalais too 23k a night.

So mature of you.

Yeah. I think the 2023 edition was flawless. A great balance of genres, where the newer acts aren't forced.

Personally think aside from the Friday and Charlotte de whitte on Thursday 23 was garbage compared to 22 and 24.

Again, just playing Devil's Advocate because I'm off work with nowt else to do; I always find it funny that the 'something for everyone' tag is thrown in the direction of festivals like Werchter, Glasto, Nos, Mad Cool etc that were primarily rock/alt based festivals. Like, for me personally, Rock Werchter 2020 was far more likely to sell me a ticket with Pearl Jam, Pixies, The Strokes, Kendrick Lamar, 21 Pilots and System Of A Down on the top line than a festival with 1 Rock/1 Rap/1 Pop/1 Other Headliner.

Again, this is all just my personal opinion/preference but I would never presume (for eg) that Tomorrowland or Creamfields should start booking Foo Fighters as a headliner one year, or that Wireless should book Green Day to to make it appeal to me. They're different festivals for a different audience and that's fine. I just find it odd that it's the 'rock' festivals that have to seem to be the ones that have had to try and encompass other genres in recent years to appeal to everyone.

The worst thing with such artists is that it's hard (at least for me) to enjoy their show (even if you try to) due to constant SCREAMS in the crowd.
What's worse, these kind of fans sometimes camp at the main stage since the opening and show total disrespect to other artists before the headliner.
For one-day event, such as Boutique, it would be a perfect headliner, but...
Planned to do my first RW next year and now hoping for good Barn and Klub C closers on Sunday.

2023 headliners and flawless? The year where they repeated RHCP? And had Mumford & Sons as headliners (even though they were a replacement so not exactly their fault). The rest of the lineup you can’t judge yet…

Well I felt like both 22 and 24 (especially!!) were relatively weak, so I guess I'm more of a Muse than dua lipa guy.

Anyway, unless you're highly acclaimed like Billie or Frank Ocean, I think that to be a headliner with 2 albums out is a weak, forced-hands choice. No matter how many concerts she sold this year in Belgium, RW is heading exactly where Coachella was heading. It will take another year or two, but they will start feeling their popy choices in tickets sales.

Tbf Wireless turned from a festival who booked Bands to only rappers

If I look at Werchter lineups in the past hasn’t it always been varied? Pink has headlined 3-4 times hasn’t she? Dua Lipa headlined last year.  They’ve been very vocal about wanting Billie Eilish too.  It’s one of those too with being able to book who is around, as has been said before even the likes of Glastonbury have struggled to book those massive acts anymore and acts just want to do their own thing.

I like all the headers announced but whether I see them is another thing.  Hopefully there’ll be a package next week that makes people happier anyway
