You can't just throw money on a big name and expect they will come. It doesn't work like that... That logic always makes me laugh. I’ve been saying for ages, you can only book who is around. Granted, moan in a couple of months and say X, Y and Z are much better than Werchter and they should have been booked but so far… who else is about?! Tbf, I’m just looking forward for the undercard now

I think this is something big festivals used to do, tho I'll admit that right now I can only come up with examples from Coachella (Beyonce, Frank Ocean) Edited Monday at 08:58 PM by Ohad

When was the last time Werchter had an act that wasn't on tour (and played only there)?

And again, like you, I can't think of any example, I just don't know it doesn't exist 🙂

Tbf, I’m just looking forward for the undercard now Maybe 2025 is a bit less studded with big names than I was hoping for when I was aspiring to go back into European festival visiting after not doing it for years. Ah well. Hope springs eternal that someone's about to pull a madness out of the bag. ... and not just putting ska-band Madness in as heads ofc. Let's hope it's your personal taste. An up and coming one of a dozen artist is more worthy a headline spot, than what might be one of the last chances to ever see a living legend live (which also puts on one hell of a show). Noted!
Codhead
I put Macca in the same category as Elton John, Rod Stewart and a few others, that should have retired years ago because they can't sing anymore and sound terrible. So I would take Fender over Macca. Edit: By sounding terrible I mean vocally rather than musically. Codhead
We'll just have to agree to disagree, because I will never understand how anyone can think Paul's vocals are anything but shot. activean
Looking on Insta at RW announcement posts, today's announcement is already the most liked one, Sam Fender post has the least. Find said huge act and offer them a sh*t tonne of money to be free for the date. Make it worth their while. 🤷♂️ They could have booked someone Last year, the year before etc. for them to be free this year. They knew in advance this 50th year was coming. They could have made some bit of effort. Edit: I don't even care she's playing. I know 1 of her songs. I'm going again anyway, and I'm going to enjoy myself regardless. BlackFoxx Posted yesterday at 09:11 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:11 AM Weezer could be in play from their tour dates? What slot would they get, like 3rd down main?

I think Download have got them along with Werchter for Green Day days. This one is a game changer but its not worth crossing the pond for the same thing as Download unless the rest holds up. Good job ill know before Werchter sales if im goinf Glastonbury or not. Typically though just as i believe it's smaller id rather watch Olivia at Werchter. 3 minutes ago, Nizeto said: You think it is possible to get MUSE instead of linkin park ? muse has just been announced at tons of rock Muss can bugger off now, over 10 years too late
bitterobvious Posted yesterday at 10:08 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:08 AM Not sure about Olivia but I'm glad the festival is mixing it up a little bit, there's only so many times I can listen to Pearl Jam

gigi21 Posted yesterday at 11:42 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 11:42 AM (edited) Alanis Morissette just announced World Tour 2025. Playing Amsterdam and Luxembourg but no Belgium. She'll be touring Europe all June and July and she's technically still available for Sunday 6 (but in Glasgow the day before). I don't know how likely could be Alanis co-heading with Olivia Rodrigo but I can imagine something like mothers and daughters going together to both shows...
