can someone please tell me when the first seeticket coach leaves Sunday night back to Londn? my flight was changed to 11 am, if I take my original one at 5:30 am I will miss the flight…

Similar, need to get to Leeds earlier than the aforementioned 13:30 coach. Can I nab an earlier one and if so how does that work? Any ideas when they run?

Hi anyone who's travelled coaches before, are there plugs or uses on board to charge phones? Thanks

They contract the coaches out to local coach companies who use their own vehicles, so it depends on what those operators have in their fleet. You might be lucky but I wouldn't bank on it. The coach I took from the O2 last year didn't have power points. You'd probably have more luck on a National Express coach, but even they contract out sometimes.

Getting jealous of all these reports of people arriving when some of us poor sods have got to wait almost 24 hours until even getting on a coach!

If anyone's interested in a return journey swap let me know - my boyfriend and I have been allocated a 3pm return to Birmingham on Monday but would love to get home earlier if anyone wants a lie-in or has sorted an alternative route back. We actually live in Liverpool, so anywhere North West would be amazing!

See you all in the field soon(-ish)!

I am always fascinated when you see these old threads resurrected and you see questions/situations like above with no responses and wonder, ‘what happened, how did they get sorted?’………..

is it just me being weird. Probs…

On the way home to Manchester this year driver deliberately went the wrong way towards Cardiff so that he could mount some hours up, then claim he was going to bust his maximum mileage and refused to go any further than Sandbach. The company had to send out relief driver.

I'm not driving expert but once on the M5 I don't get effing lost on the way to the M6. It's pretty bloody simple.

I could have murdered him with my bare hands. But I was too weak with exhaustion.

We've had some brilliantly quick journeys, good drivers and good coaches. And some shockers driving absolute sheds!

Pot luck!

We had a driver that took us down a dead end road , fortunately my old school was down that road and I directed us to go in there and use the bus arrival area so we could do an about turn and come out again … cheers on the bus as if we’d gone further it would have delayed us a fair bit … was doing some back seat driving as I shouted down the bus that we were going wrong . Did seem that most of the people on the bus weren’t from the area though . Should be pretty simple from Taunton

Hope the stories of the potential toilet leaks on board are overblown... having to preventively wrap luggage in plastic would be a pain, even if the chance is low.

The chance of it happening again on your coach are very low but as with any travel, I'd keep anything important with me or on my person and in terms of clothes etc, split them over a hold bag and a carry on... or in this case, backpack and rucksack?  Just incase...

I had to chuck a couple of T-shirts out, buy a new sleeping bag and borrow some boxer shorts off my mate. Bad times!

Glad you made it through though, now it's a memory haha

Thanks for the responses. This will be my 7th GF but my very first time going on the coach! Kind of looking forward to it.

My issue is I tend to pack fairly heavily, so I need to be a bit more ruthless this year. I can give a camping chair or similar to a mate who's driving down no doubt, perhaps a crate of booze too.

I assume it's your big rucksack in the coach hold (and I can cram as much as possible into that/strap my small tent bag to it?) and I can carry my smaller backpack onto the coach with me?

Any top tips from seasoned coach-goers?

I put my rucksack in the hold with 'everything' in it, with my tent and flagpole (easy, tigers - it's for our campsite!) strapped to it. But I travel very lightly and don't drink booze which makes things much easier for me. Then I take a shopping/tote bag with me onto the coach for the journey. Going by coach is fun as there's a nice buzz from all the shared excitement, and if there are some random newbies you meet, it can be great telling them-not telling them about what they're about to experience!

Mates go Coach from Brum every year.

Last year (Wednesday) coach departed around 06:30, and they were in and through the gates by 10:30....

Similar sort of times the year before...

Can you actually get away with two big pieces of luggage stored on the Seetickets coaches, like a big rucksack and a rolling duffel? It wasn't a problem with the National Express coaches this past year.

As long as you're not taking the Michael, you should be fine. I've done the coach 3-4 times before and Drives never has much to with loading. People are generally pretty courteous (in Brum, at least) on the way THERE! So you loading one rucksack and something else that is not the size of an African elephant and you should be fine.
