As long as you're not taking the Michael, you should be fine. I've done the coach 3-4 times before and Drives never has much to with loading. People are generally pretty courteous (in Brum, at least) on the way THERE! So you loading one rucksack and something else that is not the size of an African elephant and you should be fine.

What's the Michael? The rolling duffel would be an equivalent size of the rucksack which is why I am wondering. Note that the coach we got is departing from Bristol, for what it's worth, and worst case scenario, I could try placing the bigass rucksack on my lap in the bus.

As in taking the Mick/Mickey? Taking the piss?

A British idiom that is used less frequently now than when I was little!

A general guide is if you can carry it all, you'll be fine.

I am always fascinated when you see these old threads resurrected and you see questions/situations like above with no responses and wonder, ‘what happened, how did they get sorted?’………..

is it just me being weird. Probs…

weellll if you must know....

We did get an earlier coach, the "11:30" coach came at 13:15, so we managed to get on that a whopping 15 minutes earlier than our scheduled coach (God knows when that arrived). But as fate would have it, a tyre exploded whilst overtaking a lorry and we had to make a hasty manoeuvre over to the hard shoulder, where we were eventually rescued by the "13:30" coach we should have been on in the first place! Got back to Leeds around 22:30 and back home around 0:00. Had to apologise somewhat to babysitters. Got showered and in bed by 01:00 - bairn woke up at 05:00...

thank you 😀.  A happy(ish) ending - you made it back in one piece on the day you intended.

I suppose the question now is - faced with the same situation (or advising someone else) what would you do?

Quick question from those in the know - if I've got a return coach to Glasgow but want to go back to Leeds how possible is that to be allowed? Last time our return coach was half empty as lots didnt use it so hoping wont be too much of an issue.....

I'm hoping to switch from Glasgow return to Leeds as flying out next day from there on holiday....
