No. If onsite early you get 2 bands. One is the normal one everyone gets, just slightly different colours.

The other last year was a bright orange one to say you have completed the health and safety training. Thus year that will have a QR code on it

I don't know of any staff scams anymore, not for a while.

Thought people were saying about people with no bands on at all so they would be people smuggled in backs of vehicles. 

They always say they will do a sweep of the festival before gates open but never seen it happen

I've seen the sweep happen*, but I think that there may be some confusion over what it actually entails as it wouldn't catch most interlopers..

 

It's basically just getting the site ready for the public. So ensuring all public camping fields are empty, nobody has parked their car/van on a path, etc. That kind of stuff.

 

There's no real attempt to actively check wristbands of people on site, as that'd be effectively impossible. Someone would only get caught up in the sweep and evicted if they've pitched somewhere that'd attract attention and happen to be at their tent/van at the exact moment.

 

* I spent a few minutes sat on the benches at the top of the Pyramid Field, watching security check and dismantle tents at about 10pm Tuesday in 2014 or 15.
