Barry Can't Swim = Frey Again v2.0 😜

Think that may have been more of a comment about being booked way too low on the Park with little competition, hence, rammed, rather than any comparison musically…but maybe I misinterpreted…

Bloc Party

Disclosure

The Go! Team

Janelle Monae

Jungle

The Go! Team and Janelle Monae are about my only two non-negotiables at this stage. Jungle just about wins out over Jamie XX. Alvaays would be on there if it wasn't for Janelle based on current clash finder timings, but we'll see. Was massively into Bloc Party and The Go! Team at the same time so seeing both of them would be great. Disclosure the one on this list who is most likely to fall off and be replaced by someone else. Need to listen to some Barry can't swim apparently...

BC Camplight - saw then at Bearded Theory on Saturday for first time. Excellent - heartily recommend.

The National - hopefully it lands better than on the Pyramid. They could smash it if they get it right.

Michael Kiwanuka - deserves his moment on the big stage

Black Pumas - new find for me, looking forward to it greatly

LCD sound system - hope they can repeat the epic set from last time on the Other as i missed it.

I've always really liked Avalon, but this year is the first time that I've got two of my five must-sees in there, in BC Camplight and Flyte. The latter have three LPs, the last two of which are astonishingly good records. If they can reproduce the lushness of those in that smashing tent I will be a very happy bunny/benny.

We have seen BC Camplight fairly recently, so he may just miss out. But he is a lot of fun (in a very sardonic and miserable way). You'll definitely enjoy it.

LCD

Dua though I also want to see Faithless

Prydz

If I get the above and any two of Jessie Ware, Avril, Justice, Sugababes, Black Pumas, Barry can’t swim, Jalen Ngonda… (shift and clash permitting), I’ll be delighted

After being disappointed by the initial release the lineup is now looking excellent and it’s really hard to choose!

Squid:  Houseplants

LCD: Been a fan for years, been at Glasto at the same time as them and I’ve still never seen them. I feel their songs will hit different now I’m also over the hill.

Barry can’t Swim:  to see what all the fuss is about. My seven year old enjoys his music. Alas, she won’t be there!

Johnny Flynn:  A Larum is a nostalgic classic for me. I just hope he plays some of it!

Hagop Tchaparian: Reminds me of 2010ish James Holden in a good way

Bonus mentions to Justice, Jamie XX, Alvvays and Lankum.

Squid don't play Houseplants live much these days -  in case that influences you. Not the last few times I've seen them anyway.

Based on this thread and hurt/heal, I'm starting to think I might be the only one in Woodsies for Gossip on Saturday night...

I actually think the new album is great and if they weren't opposite my only must see of the entire festival in Jessie Ware I would certainly have considered them but I have missed Jessie 3 times due to unfortunate clash and bad timing when touring so I have to catch her this time.

Idles - obvs

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - love a bit of psych and these guys are great live

Flamingods - impressive psych multi instrumentalists from London/Beirut

Lottery Winners - such a fun poppy act, plus they're from local to me (Leigh)

Jungle - missed them last time when they played on West Holts and I regretted it!

I'd completely missed Johnny Flynn.

Not a huge fan by any means but do enjoy his stuff and definitely one I'd see clashes/shifts permitting.

Yeah I feel that new album is really flying under the radar. Headliner might be a bit much, but they've got a nice mix of new stuff and decent back catalogue to choose from, and their 6 Music Festival set looked like a lot of fun.

Saturday night is a wasteland for me – I've seen Jessie Ware a few times (so I absolutely get her must-see status...) including on this tour, have no real interest in Disclosure now / caught them when they headlined WH a few years back, seen Peggy Gou before. Coldplay are Coldplay but their Big Weekend set didn't do much to sway me.

Yes I've loved Jessie's last 2 albums and it's just been sh*t timing every time she's played anywhere near us recently so got to catch her. I think everyone at Gossip will get a great show though. Beth Ditto is a great performer.
