I'm not sure you'll find one that is that light. I have a 3 man F&B that I can't stand up in which weighs 6 kg which was just about manageable for me going on the coach to Bearded Theory this weekend with a big and small rucksack but I also have the Arpenaz 4.1 which I can stand up in (it's 190cm at its highest) but weighs over 10 kg.

I'm not sure such a thing exists, I was trying to find one earlier this year and failed.

  • Very lightweight.
  • 3M blackout tent you can stand up in.

Pick one.

  • Very lightweight - sub 2kg?
  • Small blackout tent - just over 4kg
  • Tent you can stand up in - 9kg
  • Blackout tent that you can stand up in - just over 11kg

I've seen some 'tipi style' tents for around £100 that seem to weigh around 5kg but honestly, they're not what I'd take to the festival unless weather was extremely favourable...

Yeah, the problem is the blackout fabric is a fair bit heavier than regular tent fabric, so you're not going to find something that's lightweight and blackout.

You will struggle to find a 3 man tent you can stand up in. Then adding blackout and lightweight... I'm not sure they exist.

I have a 4 man blackout that can stand up in. But it's heavy as f**k ha

We got a Coleman 3 person tent that is blackout and weighs 6.5 kg. We had a look at the queecha equivalent which was 10kg.

Coleman Chimney Rock 3 Plus, the max height is 155cm so not quite enough to stand up in but not too bad.

Thanks for the response, I know I was looking for a miracle here.. It seems "stand up tents" start at 4Man .. how odd. Will look at the Coleman.

It's not so much the darkness in the tent that makes them attractive as the cooling effect.  I've got a non-f&b blackout tent and even that being less effective I still got an extra 60-90 minutes before the tent was oppressively hot in the morning compared to usual.

If you're planning to travel by rail to Castle Cary be aware most rail service providers do not allow trolleys on trains. Trolleys are also not allowed on the shuttle buses between Castle Cary station & the festival.

Hi-Gear did a stand-up one (Aura) but very much not blackout, mine is like a sauna most mornings. If they could adapt that shape, it would be ideal.

Thats a good point. I'm actually working, so would be getting a different shuttle bus on the Monday before festival starts. not sure if the trolley rule would apply. Lets hope the physio starts working soon, so I can drive.

If not I was looking at a folding fishing type trolley.. thoughts?

We bought an Arpenaz 4.1 F&B from Decathlon this year.  It's the best compromise between weight/space/height/blackout for me & Mrs 4am.  Still about 10-11kg though.
