On the food front, and to add some much needed misery to this upbeat thread, I thought the food in 2022 was crap all round. Huge queues at all times and bang average or below average food when you get it, for hugely inflated prices way above even London prices. By Sunday I ended up just going outside of standard meal times and getting whatever had the shortest queue (even then quite long). The £6 deal is an embarrassment - no chance you could stay full.

I plan to do more altenative substances to suppress my appetite this time, and to bring a few blocks of lard.

2022 was the first one after covid where a lot of the smaller traders had spent 2 years just keeping there head above water and were unable to pay the Glastonbury pitch fees so didn’t attend.

Don't think I've ever had a decent meal at Glastonbury the last 5 times I've l attended. Would love to know what places people consider to be good value. I just expect high prices and tiny portions sizes, think I paid 10 quid for 5 mozzarella sticks last year.

Decent value: i think the fried chicken place at West Holts was good, for £14 i got i think two pieces of mango chicken, two pieces of jerk, a pile of fries and some kind of gravy dipping thingo. It was a very solid portion, i absolutely didnt mind paying it at all. I think £12 is about what i expect to pay for a decent meal, and £15 for something bells and whistles. I bring a fair few snacks etc around with me as well, as im an exceptionally greedy person.

Lukes Tropical do some great Jerk Chicken, and are right in the middle of the Main Markets. They're especially good value if you go for a meal option which can add in a lot of bulk + carbs.

edit: originally named the entirely wrong stall.

These prices are making me wonder if there's a custard cream limit at the gate. How many custard creams would it take to sustain an adult male throughout the whole festival?

I don't know but I want in. Can't beat custard creams.

i hear rumours of marks and sparks doing chocolate covered custard creams. Now i'm not really a custard cream kind of fella, but if you cover something in chocolate, i'm going to want to put one in my mouth.

According to Google each biscuit is 59 Kcall

Amusing you go fairly hard at it for he 5 days at 4500 Kcal per day for 5 days

381 Biscuits should get you through

What about if I go for those mad M&S chocolate coated ones? Would reduce the amount I have to carry in.

Great minds!

Can confirm they're other worldly. Very dense, mind.

problem with the good food places at glastonbury is the queues are massive and im normally wanting to get to some music so i just eat at the place with the shortest queues...

maybe ill try and be more organised this year.

i wont i will be having the nearest pizza i can find.

I can't believe how middle-class Glastonbury has become with all this talk of custard creams. What's wrong with Kendal mint cake (or bags of sugar if funds are low)?

Over 2000 calories in this bad boy and they climbed Everest with them.

You can rarely go wrong with a wood fired pizza, though I prefer to not be TOO full so I can carry on drinking. I can't imagine its easy if you want to actually have a hearty meal

you can when you are Gluten intolerant

Try and eat off peak as much as is possible … and not after a band has just finished at a big stage nearby

Curry for breakfast is pretty much always the right thing to do 👍

Really? You have clearly been doing something wrong, the food and Glasto is amazing! And was again last year. Don't eat from stalls arounf the main stages unless they are tried and tested and you know you want it. Venture off elsewhee and you will find some amazing food.

What’s wrong? It’s got an extreme laxative effect if taken to excess😉😊

Tend to find buying food whilst a band are on if you're near a bigish stage works well..and you can listen/watch on the screen whilst you wait.
