Yep, and the crowd at Primavera comprehensively dismantles the "younger people won't know them" bollocks as well.

 

I have to assume the only reason they're not playing Glastonbury this year, with such a weak top line, is because they're already pencilled in for a big slot next year. Hopefully headlining the whole shebang as their grand farewell show.

I have mixed feelings - I love their music  - and when seen them before they were great - but on seeing this I am not sure I want to close the festival with this. Not quite QOTSA!

I love The National but this has been underwhelming so far. Think a strong run of songs is coming that should save it. TV sound ain’t doing them favours to be fair.

Loved the Pulp set and it would be a dream to see them on the Pyramid next year. What’s with the lisp that it seems Jarvis has developed, I’ve never noticed it before? Similar to Boy George since he’s had his teeth done. Hope he’s okay.

They've got to headline next year, surely!  Also, 2025 will be the 30th Anniversary of their legendary 1995 appearance... which is also the year that mainly people claim to be the best Glasto ever.  Would love to see Pulp next year, plus a few other bands who appeared in 1995.  I think Shed Seven are already in talks for next year, so it's possible that there could be some sort of 1995 30th Anniversary tie-in.  Several of the NME Stage acts are touring regularly at the moment... just need an Oasis reunion... and (even more unlikely!) Elastica!

Yeah I got the impression from reviews that you had to be there. Did not come across on TV well though - did not help they followed Pulp who nailed it. I say this as a National fan by the way.
