Had they reduced capacity after 2022, or was it similar that day, but quiet on the others? The sold out day last year was completely fine, I don't recall any overcrowding issues. The capacity was reduced in 2023 - because they got rid of the Bits area. Edited Monday at 05:53 PM by pipan

I meant of course, the sold out day at this year's festival with Lana del Ray. Is that what your reply was about?

Yes it was busy, it always is - to an extent, it certainly wasn't overcrowded. I stayed away from the main stage, had no reason to go there and it'll be the same for me next year during Sabrina
kingcrawler
The Friday was fine last year because while it was sold out, it felt like the only place that was really busy was mordor. I wasn’t there earlier in the day but watched the end of Troye Sivan and Lana from the back of the crowd and it was very busy, whereas the rest of the site was fine. Even afterwards it didn’t feel much different around the other stages, so perhaps people left the site after Lana. Definitely not like 2022 where it felt busy everywhere. UsernameHere
There hasn't been a day since that's been anywhere near as busy as the Thursday in 2022. I remember rocking over to Dinosaur Jr, kind of taking my time because I'm never worried about getting a decent spot at Cupra and my jaw hitting the floor when I arrived to the back of a crowd that wouldn't have looked small at Mordor. I couldn't even get close enough to catch a glimpse of the stage. That day really was an exception.
Trk
It's funny because the busiest day that year (that first thursday) was the one with the lowest attendance, it was a mixture of a some f**k ups by the organization and loads of new attendees. Seemed that the pandemic had taken its toll at every level. This last 2 editions we have had similar attendance numbers to that thursday and we have not felt anything similar. Still got vivid memories of heading to the Cupra stage to watch Faye Webster in the baking heat at 5.50pm and thinking... oh sh*t, this is crazy busy already. I still somehow managed to have one of my best Primavera nights that night though! Kudos to Primavera for pretty much sorting things over night too.

The bars were a nightmare, I waited an entire concert (Black Midi) to have a beer!
katyaz Posted yesterday at 11:57 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 11:57 AM Thursday 2022 first weekend was so bad. I'm used to crowds but this was another level. Ended up in a bar queue for almost entire Tame Impala set and missed half of Pavement. Gave up and went to Big Freedia on the hill stage which was super quiet and had a great time But that was such a special week, ciutat was another level that year. Besides it got fixed by the next day and the last two years have been totally fine since then
branvan Posted yesterday at 01:26 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:26 PM Thursday 2022 was indeed a day to f... off. Got stuck in the crowd in Mordor, it was really dangerous, people screaming, it wasn't possible to buy any drinks or water. I did swear to myself I will never attend again. But then, the following days it got better and last year there was no such situation.

None, I watched gig after gig as planned until I just couldn't anymore and ended up leaving the site sober and thirsty half past midnight (my earliest Primavera exit ever). Missed all of Kim Gordon and most of Les Savy Fav. The LSF singer ran up the slope to get a beer during their set and got served first, the git! That non-existent queue on the sunny Friday morning watching Beach Bunny @ Cupra was sublime though, fair dos to them sorting it all out so quick. UsernameHere
Pretty sure I watched about half of Little Simz (which was amazing) from the bar queue - not the worst in fairness! We also left Tame Impala after 5 or 10 minutes because the crowd was such a sh*t show. The flip side was chilling on the hill for Cigarettes after Sex was nice. Turned out to be the last year that was possible.

Our group split up to optimize the chances of getting some drinks. I ended up seeing most of The Armed, while trying to keep my place in the line. Ah, the memories 😄

Missed Charli waiting in line to get a beer. Remember getting drinks late in the night (before Hannah Diamond) with a bar guy telling me how he was sorry for the mess earlier. That HD set was amazing
