Primavera Sound 2025

Recommended Posts

Oh man, I've been pretty optimistic about the lineup since it came out but seeing these day splits just makes seem so... sparse (for my tastes, at least).

On the Thursday especially, I know that I don't like Charli or Idles or Parcels or Brutalismus or Beabadoobee or The Dare. Across the whole day there's only Spiritualized and Twigs that I'm actually into, whilst I'll admit that CMAT and Jamie XX will be fun on the night and put on a good show. Friday and Saturday are still pretty empty for me, but there's at least a lot of acts I've been meaning to check out.

Not meaning to moan because obviously it's all subjective - but if anybody has any recommendations as to who I'm overlooking or where to start on any particuar artists, I'd really appreciate the help!

For reference, my favourite acts on the wider line-up are Beach House, LCD, Spiritualized, BCNR, Cat Power & Anhoni and the Johnsons.

Thanks.

Honestly I get the disappointment and I would try and not get too caught up in it right now. There's been days I felt were a bit sparse for my taste in the past but it all worked out on the day. They just aren't the late night/out until 6am days. But actually I think it's better to get that out of the way on the first day and then you have more to look forward to

Thursday for me is more aligned with dance music, John Talbot and DJ Dustin should be cool and DJ Koze will be fun. For bands I would check Tramhaus, a few people here have recommended them. I'd suggest The Dare too but I see you aren't into them 😉

There's a few indie guitar bands on the Thursday like Momma, Julie, Been Stellar.

This is Lorelei is great, although you have to listen to a few songs to get the gist as they've got a really varied sound, even across one album.

I've got Sabres of Paradis, sistema de entretenmiento, Dame Area and Kate Bollinger on my list for that day too. I would say I've got similar tastes, as I've got all your likes on my list, but then I've also got Idles, Brutalismus, beabadoobee and The Dare, so maybe not 🤣

Thanks both, appreciate it. Looks like I should give The Dare another try too!

"Overlooking the sea" sounds like the location is the same as last two years (Amazon stage). Plus I don't think they're putting together completely new stage, bars, toilets etc. just for Sunday.

If you have the festival ticket, you don't have to buy a ticket for sunday, right? I've never been on Sunday but this year I'll stay til monday.

You have to make a reservation for 10 euros but once you attend the gig, it will be refunded to you as a credit to pay for drinks (and if not spent, it will be returned to your account after the festival). If you don't attend the show, you will lose these 10 euros. At least it worked this way this year.

They just made a new post mentioning it's likely to sell out very soon. I've attended the last four editions and usually get tickets last minute for a better price in resale. I'm very surprised.

Zero surprise here.

The three headliners make sense together, so you will sell more three day tickets and less daily pass. Also, Pop has much more expression and is much easier to sell than other music styles. The three of them are on the top 100 of Spotify right now.

We surely are in a echo chamber in forums / reddit.

Not even top 100 on Spotify, they are in top 10 in the world with sabrina having 2 songs and Chapell having one. Also both Sabrina and Chapell are not headlining Porto and they still have not been announced for any other festival in Europe. They look like exclusive bookings which makes the tickets sell much faster.

Based on your references here, definitely check out Sturgill Simpson on the Thursday, you've also mentioned FKA Twigs, so I'll throw in Denzel Curry & Crystallmess

TV on the Radio, Salem, The Jesus Lizard, Stereolab, Julie Byrne & Waxahatchee on Friday

Alan Sparhawk, Los Campesinos, Destroyer & MJ Lenderman on Sat

Out of my targets, I have 16 on Thursday, 15 on Saturday and 5 on Friday with nothing in a bigger font size than Cat Power on that day. Must be me that is unbalanced!

It's 15/14/15 (T/F/S) for me. As for the bigger font size acts, you don't love TV on the Radio? Beach House? Did you check Zaho de Sagazan's beautiful cover of Modern Love? For me, Friday looks the strongest actually.

first fake clashfinder of the season

https://clashfinder.com/s/madridps23/?user=urchin2&

I could make this work.

Weds - Hinds, Caribou

Thurs - CMAT, Parcels, Denzel Curry, Twigs (or whoever replaces her when she cancels), Idles, Jamie xx, Kelly Lee Owens

Fri - TV on the Radio, Waxahatchee, Beach House, Floating Points

Sat - Squid, Mj Lenderman, Lcd soundsystem, Fontaines DC

Thursday a lot busier than the other two and relatively early finish Saturday, but that would represent a very good weekend, I reckon.

That said, I don't have a ticket and judging by their social posts, they'll have sold out before I get around to picking one up. 😂

Thanks for your concern/ suggestions. Sadly Beach House do absolutely nothing for me, I have 2 albums and never think of playing them. Same with 'Dear Science'. Zaho de S could be interesting. But looking at the smallest white font groupings, I think a very successful evening could be achieved with Cat Power, Yoasobi, Feeble Little Horse, Waxahatchee, the flamenco stuff and the Palestinian hip hop. Being able to even think about going to see that range of artiste without even hitting the big names is why I love PS so much.
