Primavera Sound 2025

Recommended Posts

I have to say the lineup has really grown on me. They've definitely strengthened the dance/electronic side of things which was lacking this year

Don't get me wrong I'd like to have seen a couple more indie leaning bands and hip hop artists, but the vibe for next year will just be different and that's not a bad thing

Oh man, I've been pretty optimistic about the lineup since it came out but seeing these day splits just makes seem so... sparse (for my tastes, at least).

On the Thursday especially, I know that I don't like Charli or Idles or Parcels or Brutalismus or Beabadoobee or The Dare. Across the whole day there's only Spiritualized and Twigs that I'm actually into, whilst I'll admit that CMAT and Jamie XX will be fun on the night and put on a good show. Friday and Saturday are still pretty empty for me, but there's at least a lot of acts I've been meaning to check out.

Not meaning to moan because obviously it's all subjective - but if anybody has any recommendations as to who I'm overlooking or where to start on any particuar artists, I'd really appreciate the help!

For reference, my favourite acts on the wider line-up are Beach House, LCD, Spiritualized, BCNR, Cat Power & Anhoni and the Johnsons.

Thanks.

I had a very similar reaction from looking at the day splits poster.  PS has pulled off a real coup with the 3 big headliners (esp Carpenter and Roan), but it's also come at a fairly obvious cost.  2014 is perhaps the last time I saw a PS day splits poster and thought it was objectively coming up short of the standard expected.  It's hard to take the listing of Twigs seriously, which weakens Thursday even more.

Wow weekend tickets sold out. I have a theory that there were fewer weekend tickets on sale this year, as day tickets are more expensive and they’re going to make more money from them and people’s desire to see the pop headliners

Wow.

Then I'm looking for a ticket if someone is selling.

They just threw together three of the biggest Pop stars of the moment and which have loyal crowds willing to pay to see them live.

Mordor will be chaotic this year.

Like other posters on here, I'm becoming increasingly cynical of what it means to be 'sold out'. Easy to manipulate the balance of day tickets and weekend tickets - and worse, to magically make more tickets available later on - and yet be able to declare it as "sold out"...

assuming these tricks are done every year (and they probably do), this year this sold out message came earlier than usual (I think only in 2016 with Radiohead/LCD/PJ it came that fast).

so sold-out or not, sells are running good

I was expecting for this to happen at some point pretty soon. For me one of the reasons is how slow are other festivals from announcing their respective line ups. I think previous years we got a bigger bunch of names annouced at this point.

And especially at Spain, where BBK and Mad Cool don’t have a single name dropped at this point and we’re coming closer to Christmas.

I wonder what is the reason for that. Harder to find proper headliners beside pop names seems to be a reason for me. Beside Linkin Park i can’t find bigger names on the guitar side.

Might be a pretty good year to rely on pop names this year. We see scandy festivals already jumping on the chappel roan train. I expect some other big pop names to go there in august.
