Geoff Barrow is leaving Beak>.

Don't think it would happen next year but I think Portishead could be on the horizon, 2026 maybe.

Good spot. They did a concert 2 years ago which was another clue.

They aren't getting any younger - they'll come back and surely PS will book them.

Maybe the Lumineers? EU/UK tour ends on 31/05

Only Spain dates are Bilbao and Madrid

not actually sure if they would fit PS style

they came up on my feed as sponsored post…

Might as well go for Imagine Dragons.

I wouldn't read anything into the Geoff Barrow statement, neither pro or contra future Portishead tours. However I think it should be clear that he is not planning on going back on tour immediately after citing health reasons for leaving Beak. Doesn't rule them out, but it sounds very unlikely for 2025

Yeah I agree, even without the comments around touring Beak have a date in March so any Portishead rehearsals might be a tight squeeze, for a band who havent done a full live show since 2015 I imagine they'd want to spend quite some time rehearsing properly if they were going to go on a tour.

4 weeks of rehearsals is enough?

For a band who haven't played live together in a decade (not counting the Bristol War Child gig which was a handful of songs and not the full touring band) I'd argue no.

2026 at the earliest in my opinion.

Not sure if I follow. What does a Beak date in March have to do with Portishead now Barrow has left?

He will leave after the tour, so in March at the earliest. I imagine after that it will take a while for Beak> to reform with a new drummer.

Starting from the fact that there is no hint that Portishead will reform anytime soon, I think it is pretty clear that Barrow will not leave Beak> just to do another tour a month later.

Ah, thought he was leaving now, not after the tour...

I was putting together a list of my favourites for the year so far and I was surprised to see how much straight alt rock and indie stuff was there. Not sure how much would end up on a bill next year, but I've really enjoyed Jack White, Idles, Fontaines DC, and MJ Lenderman.

I suspect the latter three might be more likely than White, but I'd have such a good time if he performed one night.

Lenderman looks a lock based on his dates. Looking forward to seeing him.
