I'm 53 and have followed the same path. 10cm self inflatable is a gamechanger.

I’ve got that Amazon trekology one. It’s pretty good but quite narrow. I used it on top of a thin 5cm self inflating mattress I have and together that was good - I’m also early 50’s!

Trekology also do a bigger one. I think I would go for that if I wasn’t double up with a sim.

Came on to recommend that bed and you already have it! The weight is a pain but its so worth the effort for us. Mid 30s though and may need to find a way to lighten the load eventually. In the meantime our canvas home has been nicknamed the Hotel and I'm ok with that. I particularly like them as you can chuck all our stuff underneath your self inflater and it keeps the tent tidy and if someone comes in in the night its an extra barrier for them to find the valuables.

Out of interest how will you pump it up? We have a similar one in our guest room but it can only fill with the built in mains powered pump as it has no other valve.

I’m staying offsite, so getting stuff from car to tent is more straightforward than onsite - I’ve got 4x portable power stations which are all coming with and being swapped out as required.

Haven’t tested it with the smaller ones but it inflates in about 4 mins and uses about 1.5% of the capacity of my Jackery 240.

There is an inlet in the input valve that apparently takes a connection to a manual pump - haven’t investigated that too much as I’m not intending to use it that way (if it fails there’ll be a smaller manual-inflation airbed to hand in the car as backup)

I do agree..

Unfortunately, only have one working arm for a while (broken collar bone) so looking to try and be ultra light so I can travel on train.. hence looking for something lighter/ Im not too concerned with security, as I'm in secure crew camping.
