Were the “turnstile-less turnstiles” for the walkways? Had them on the way into SE corner as well and definitely only to control crowd flow there. -

This is quite an interesting article on RFID wristbands. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-49002496.amp I'm kinda torn on it. If the site is cashless anyway, why need to load funds onto a wristband? You just tap a card or your phone anyway. The site could become more interactive but then, I don't think I'd want GFL to know which bands I've seen etc and when and my movements the whole time. Or need some kind of mission statement sent to my phone telling me about the gig afterwards. I don't know how they use it in the US? The idea of attendees playing games during the festival in places like the SEC or the Park does sound kinda fun, but in the same way, if there's 150k ppl playing some kind of augmented reality game during the festival, it might also be really f**king annoying. -

Generally everywhere! I'm an outlier because I didn't see Shania, Bicep or Avril. 2022 just felt like consistently everywhere I went there were masses upon masses of people queuing for food, blocking off areas, it was hard to sit down a lot of the time. I experienced a lot of busy crowds this year - Justice for one, but I never felt like I didn't have enough space to dance or move about if I wanted to. Food queues if you were smart about it were a lot easier to get through this year. There were times in 2022 I'd see somewhere was too crowded and I'd try and go elsewhere - just for that to be rammed as well. edit: one thing that did take the mick this year though was toilets - awful, awful times waiting over half an hour for a slash. I don't condone peeing on the land but I can imagine if you have a weak bladder you'd be screwed. -

Exact same, guts were bad but not dangerously so. Weirdly relieved to hear someone has same! One of our group had similar week before going but it had gone by time festival came round. Was a Covid variant with him. I’ve not tested so no idea if it is or not -
For me a bit of both, moving around was much easier than 2022 and probably as easy as I've found it any other year. I attended a good number of gigs that drew a big crowd, but few were so packed it was uncomfortable (I've become progressively more crowd averse the older I've got and this year I had zero issues being in the thick of it). I think that whatever they were doing to combat gatecrashers was working, apart from a handful of poor choices I thought they did a good job of scheduling acts to spread the crowd. I get the feeling that a lot of people left before the headliners on Sunday evening because nowhere was as busy as I expected.
