So no announcements this week and roll on onto next Friday, with LP's new album?

If there’s an announcement planned for November, it should happen in the next two weeks. I’m pretty sure they will do the advent calendar again this year so wouldn’t make sense for them to have one announcement at the end of November and then another announcements in December. Unless they start with the advent calendar, of course, which used to be a case until 2019.

Where this notion of LP being at RfP comes from? I know they had big names before but LP is a different heavyweight nowadays, no?

I believe someone from the band said festivals are planned for next year. If they are doing NovaRock but not Download, RfP could have them. I don’t think they are much bigger than Green Day/Slipknot/Muse. And so far it seems they are sticking to 3 days which will save them some money as well.

On the other hand, Download forum is pretty sure they don’t have them which would make LP available for RfP if they’re the headliner NovaRock is waiting for.

The only problem is that Greenfield is also waiting for last headliner, same weekend as Nova Rock and Rock for People. And Greenfield probably have more money than RFP…

They usually have only one big headliner and that’s Slipknot. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if RaR/RiP, NovaRock and Greenfield all waited for Volbeat.

Well, I would says you're underestimating level of demand and hype around LP now. I love GD/knot/Muse but LP is different now. I've tried to get tickets for Hamburg and Paris, ended 400k+ in the queue 🙂

Also, I would bet RfP will be longer than 3 days...

Well, the demand was obvious when they only announced 2 (+1 later) arena shows in Europe. I'm not underestimating them but will be different when they announce a proper tour/lots of festivals.

I don't know with the 4 days. They've never left it that late, we always knew by September at the latest.

RfP must be waiting for something big. It's definitely not Green Day or Slipknot as they already seem busy and would be quite early for them to return. I'm pretty sure Korn will be there and they could easily announce them with a bunch of bands but chose to wait for some reason. It's festival's 30th anniversary next year so I really wouldn't be surprised if they got Linkin Park...

Some detective work there 🙂

Fontaines DC just announced some european dates and further festivals for summer 2025.

Based on dates of Mentronome Festival, they could only play there on 20.06 - but in that case they would play five days in the row. So I do not think that they're gonna play there.

We've got two more options: RfP and Colours - after Pohoda they do not have more dates confirmed at the moment till the end of July. In our weekend we know they will be announced for Primavera Porto.

Colours have already announced some artists, I assume that RfP is more certain for having them?

It's coming this month for sure. I wouldn't be much surprised if it comes next week, even this one. They have commented several times that advent calendar is coming again and they usually have first headliners out before that.

Maybe they will announce something around Download dates and both are waiting for the same band?

Download headliners are rumoured to be Green Day, Sleep Token and Korn.

They’re not waiting for bands, they have some big fancy party where the lineup will be revealed. Must have been planned for quite a while…

Do you happen to know when this party would take a place?

But it won't be full lineup right? They're going to announce new names in December every day as previous years?

Oh. The announcement date and party is for Download festival. No idea about RfP.
