2025 Stage Predictions

I imagine Wunderhorse is playing but I can't see them third down on the Park when they are headlining a show of their own at Ally Pally in the summer. I also expect some of the BRITs Rising Star noms and more of the Sound of 2025 noms to feature on the lineup. Good Neighbours, Myles Smith and Pozer are all names I'd expect to see.

Similarly, I wouldn't be surprised if Barry Can't Swim gets a similar slot to what Fred had in 2023 - sunset on the Other Stage. He'd make for a good sub for Loyle Carner.

Expand

Can't see Barry Can't Swim being back this year that would be 3 consecutive Glastonbury's on the same material -   Think he will miss 25 and get a big sized slot after his next album in 27

Personally think it's not right because I don't think Paramore are planning on touring next year, Hayley Williams is doing a solo tour. Definitely a fair few on it that will play though i'm sure like always.

Expand

Weirdly the Paramore prediction came from the same place as the Loyle Carner one? not sure if that means anything.

I still can not believe people leave Elbow of these predicted line ups.

Haven't Elbow said themselves that they haven't been asked this year?

Also that's interesting about the Loyle Carner/Paramore info coming from the same place, because the Paramore info is looking like it's shaping up to be wrong, so does that mean the same for Loyle Carner? I mean he isn't touring next year at all. I'm sure I've heard somewhere that he's taking a break this year.

Lol OK - i only refed Elbow as they are around this summer and that normally means they are playing lol

But on Brave Sir Robin Dischord posts -  Everyone refers to them like they are the Oracle who is in the know -  they also had info on Fat Dog paying Woodsies and Deftones on other -

I do not know the long history of what stuff they got right in the past but maybe it means Paramore are still an option regardless of what elese Hayley does

The reason why BSR gets that is due to his length of time and reliability but he's certainly not the only reliable source and anything can happen.

There is 6 people or whatever that have source sources for people yet not even Glastonbury have announced a day for Neil Young for example so it could be 25 people. If Glastonbury haven't got a confirmed day it means nothing.

What's the point of speculating on here if you won't listen to good sources rumours.

Near as much chance of the other two being Daft Punk and the bloody KLF vs O Rod and 1975 by that logic

I'd venture most of the crowd there were there for the whole thing, Nas or Andre 3000 as much as him, if not more so. It didn't sell out either. It's like saying Burna Boy will get a bigger crowd than IDLES at Glasto. Nope.

Agreed

British Bands of reasonable notoriety get like a 25% multiplier on there crowd size at Glastonbury  probably like +50% if they had a hey day from 1990 to 2005 -   Just the demographic of the crowd I guess.

No disrespect meant to acts like Loyle Carner or Burna Boy  -  but they probably get a downsize on there regular crowd size at the festival.

Being a bigger act in 2025 definitely does not equate to a bigger crowd size.

(rough estimated maths obviously)

Because it's a festival forum, that's what we do.

Put very politely I don't need your input on anything I speculate about before anything is announced officially. You can copy this over to though for your mates so they can all react to it.

I saw both Loyle Carner and Idles in the past two years and it definitely felt like Loyle Carner packed out WH more than idles. Idles on other stage wasn’t hugely busy. Obviously other is a much bigger stage though. I’d rather see Loyle carner pack out a smaller stage. I also accept that Loyle Carner seems to be going from strength to strength with his albums whereas idles have plateaued. I can’t remember what point I was trying to make

Pilton stage competition winner  will slot in somewhere .... ive seen china bears when they supported October drift and they were good , also a bad called Filta who are from Taunton they do mostly covers with a bit of a twist but with a few bits of own material .... not heard of neon nights , battery acid , land of the giants or Archy and the astronaughts . cant remember how many of these get festival slots or is it just the winner ?

Wasn't talking about crowd sizes at glasto - just meant size in general.

I do think Idles crowd would’ve been a lot busier had Fontaines not been clashing with them and just released two really good big singles

Had my first stab at making a prediction for this year. Thrown a few wild cards in like J Balvin who has a random June date in Berlin apparently which I could see getting extended into a longer mini-tour. I've tried to incorporate as much as I can see that we know, but I'm sure there are some assumptions that I've missed out.

J Balvin would never accept that slot. He just wouldn't play - headliner in america but just not that big here / a priority

absolutely love £££ as well i think

Chase Atlantic and Wombats as 2/3 woodsies headliners would be dire!

I'd maybe swap FKA Twigs and Basement Jaxx to fix the Prodigy / Jaxx clash

I know I do these all the time but in the half a month since my last prediction, so much has changed (considering I had Muse as my Saturday headliner)! Here's a brief rundown of all the changes:

  • Conceded and took King Gizz out until I see otherwise
  • After hearing Ethel Cain's new project, I'd be very surprised to see her at the G
  • I know Shygirl is definitely too low
  • Really wanted to add a second secret set but couldn't find one - got a small list of Wolf Alice, Muse, KOL (they can still do Saturday, hypothetically...) and Fender
  • Put in some 'hail mary's' (Weezer and Public Enemy)
  • Still got a huge longlist of potential names that I've been trying to fit in but can't find room
  • The Pyramid subs list is getting absurd, especially with the Paramore question mark and the Kasabian info - Central Cee, Jack White, Yungblud, Noah Kahan, Raye all still in the mix.

But, with all things said...here's where I'm at.

Friday:

Pyramid - The 1975, Paramore, Wet Leg, Alanis Morissette, Ezra Collective, Travis, CMAT

Other Stage - Loyle Carner, Deftones, Gracie Abrams, Franz Ferdinand, Inhaler, Nieve Ella, Cast, Shed Seven (openers)

West Holts - FKA twigs, Kamasi Washington, Doechii, FLO, Myles Smith, Yussef Dayes, Cymande, Master Peace

Woodsies - Rufus Du Sol, Foster the People, The Kooks, girl in red, Viagra Boys, Lola Young, Alfie Templeman, Antony Szmierek

The Park - Amyl and the Sniffers, Laura Marling, Public Service Broadcasting, Faye Webster, Berwyn, The Lemon Twigs, Osees

Saturday:

Pyramid -  Neil Young, Kasabian, Jorja Smith, Public Enemy, Snow Patrol, Smokey Robinson, Train, Cat Burns

Other Stage - Charli xcx, HAIM, The Libertines, Beabadoobee, Kneecap, Everything Everything, The K's, Hard-Fi

West Holts - Cypress Hill, Goat, JPEGMAFIA, Shygirl, Rizzle Kicks, Nilufer Yanya, Pozer, Dua Saleh

Woodsies - St. Vincent, Blossoms, Nova Twins, TV on the Radio, Japanese Breakfast, Kelly Lee Owens, Paris Paloma, Good Neighbours

The Park - Underworld, Father John Misty, English Teacher, Magdalena Bay, Royel Otis, Lauren Mayberry, Jessica Pratt

Sunday:

Pyramid - Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Rod Stewart, The Script, Sigrid, Richard Hawley

Other Stage - The Prodigy, Jamie T, Tate McRae, Weezer, Future Islands, Wunderhorse, Jake Bugg, Red Rum Club

West Holts - Basement Jaxx, Maribou State, Denzel Curry, The Maytals, Geordie Greep, Hak Baker, Elmiene, Ibibio Sound Machine

Woodsies - Clairo, Cage the Elephant, The Japanese House, The Dare, Fat Dog, Lambrini Girls, Heartworms, Competition Winner

The Park - The Maccabees, Beth Gibbons, L'Imperatrice, TBA (Biffy Clyro), Tom Misch, Katy J Pearson, Fabiana Palladino

The Balance seems right as I look at this thinking il be at WH Woodsies and the Park more than the Pyramid or Other - WHich is absolutely normal for me at Glastonbury
