music changes... so let's put Justin Timberlake - a pop act that was in his heyday 20 years ago - on the main stage? Is that really representative of music changing, or does it speak to lazy bookings and an apathetic crowd who is happy to pay for a 3-day festival ticket so long as there are a few acts across the weekend that appeal to them?
Both of these things I agree with in principle, but clearly they are ‘unfair’ by definition.
This whole thread is ultimately muddled in what constitutes ‘fairness’ imo. Is it fair that everyone gets an equal chance of getting tickets (pure ballot) or is it fair that those who want to go more than others have a higher chance of going (impossible to measure accurately).
