I found out the original source of the Neil Young info on Sunday, and how it came to me; makes me even more shocked it's wrong.

It is wrong though, clearly. I've f**ked it on that one, my sincere apologies.

Maybe he's appearing but not in the legend slot?  Not sure where he'd fit but I'd be curious to see him, though I'd have to do some homework first.

Looking at recent clips, his pipes seem in decent order compared to many of his contemporaries. It’s the perfect spot for him, Rod’s got loads of hits that everyone knows and a sufficient amount of cheese that the slot requires.

For those basing their indignation on Rod’s 2002 headline - FFS get over it, that was 22 f**king years ago! I’ve seen him since then and he was fine. I won’t be on the farm next year, but if I was I’d be all over this

Some posts suggesting his voice is gone….. I’d say, to anyone concerned about this, don’t be. Diana Ross’s voice was shot. When I watched it on TV when I got back, it was terrible…. However, in the field, it was an absolute party. I expect much the same watching Rod. I’m very pleased with this. First Cut is the Deepest…. One of my favourite songs, twice in three years at the Glastonbury Legends slot. Superb.

Agree  (except I could tell DiRo's voice was shot, and she seemed a bit like a rabbit in headlights) BUT I still thoroughly enjoyed it!

I have never been a fan of Rod S but I know all his tunes. Same went for Dolly.

Went to Dolly, loved it.

Will go to Rod S and no doubt will love it as it really will be  a massive singalong fun time party.

If I was not going I would not bother posting here and let those that are have the fun the announcement rightly deserves. Why I would come here to bring negativity baffles me.

My hope is that another old star ends the Pyramid that say and the S Wonder rumours are true.

Could it be that he's signed into the next one and either assumptions got made or information was slightly wrong on dates? It seems weird that we got rumours for two former headliners moving to Legend's Slot at the same time?

I've nothing to be sour about and have been saying rod is sh*t since I saw his sh*t headline set.

Well, the first  3 or 4 songs anyway - long enough to see him boot a football into the crowd and say 'this one's for our boys in afghanistan'.

Then we left and went to see St Germain on Jazzworld (who were great) 🙂

Happy with this! no question that Rod is a great fit for the legends slot even if he isn't everyone's cuppa.

I think this applies to all those who fill the legends slot!

I agree with the exception of Shania Twain, which just didn't seem right to me! no doubt she's a big star of the late 90s/early 00s but i don't consider her to have the same legacy as someone like Cat Stevens, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie etc

Fair play I remember now it was you who broke the Oasis news.

I pray you are wrong on this one. I think they are probably on 'indefinite hiatus' but i really doubt they are done it'll just be another long gap to the next record.

you'd imagine this will be proven right or wrong within a couple weeks

I also pray I'm wrong on AM, I'm grieving.

That and the 1975 - I'd absolutely love to be wrong on

I'm a lifetime Diana Ross fan, 'Diana & Marvin' is one of my favourite albums, but my goodness, she was awful.

I just wish that I could erase the experience from my memory. My expectations were realistic but omg, a stark reminder that not everyone is a great performer in their later years, really felt for her...

Similarly, I'll be giving Rod a miss, absolutely no fomo this year. Hope you have a blast!

More salty than sour, I'd say.

Anyway, thanks for popping in to piss on the announcement.
