Missed the '22 run, but will definitely be keen to have a nudge at them, dates and funds depending, next year again.

Been thinking, who the f**k is actually playing TRSNSMT next year & struggling to work it out. Initially I had read Sabrina caprenter but apparently that isn't happening. If Sam Fender is doing stadiums then he won't be doing this presumably but I imagine they will be trying to get him. Looking back to previous years you have:

 

• 2017 – Radiohead, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro^[13]
• 2018 – Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Queen + Adam Lambert, The Killers^[14]
• 2019 – Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra^[15]
• 2021 – Courteeners, Liam Gallagher, The Chemical Brothers^[16]
• 2022 – Paolo Nutini, The Strokes. Lewis Capaldi^[17]
• 2023 – Pulp, Sam Fender, The 1975^[18]
• 2024 – Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon, Calvin Harris^[19]

 

^{From that based on you can rule almost all of them out based on how recently they have played or them simply not being about fitting the bill anymore. I feel like they'd want Catfish again but they are clearly volatile atm. I don't really see who is left? Biffy I guess but apparently they are doing their own shows. Only really leaves something a bit more left field. Maybe a first female headliner?}

I wish they’d go for it with line ups. Throw the kitchen sink and cheque at the booking agents

What do you mean? Like budget or the range of acts they can book?

Yeah. I mean, obviously you could go all in on a massive headliner, but it arguably could weaken the bill beneath, and vice versa, all that stuff.

it would be nice if they threw out something random but highly doubt it. Although I never thought they would book the strokes or pulp tbf

surely they have the cash for it? Sold very well last few years and it has a big company behind.

 

I guess it selling well is a reason for them to continue doing as they have been though to be fair

Noah feels like he'd be at a reasonable price, perhaps - though there was also a very sharp uptick in price between the winter arena dates and the summer ones that followed.

Second line - i don't see why they would bother to be honest

They haven't been getting glasto headliners for years and are doing well, why change that now. She's probably the biggest of the glasto 3 too.

 

I wonder if 1975 could return and do it alongside Glasto to pay for that.

I think The 1975 were on hiatus unless Glasto called and they did, aside from that I don't think they had any plans

But if The 1975 do come off hiatus for the G, then TRNSMT is one that makes for a credible stop. I do find it hard to believe they'd do absolutely nothing but Glastonbury. (Though granted, I'd assume it would be more in the ballpark of their own shows.)

They'd probably do glasto as a one off (although they are meant to be broke at the moment, so trnsmt could be a good extra dates to help get a paycheck in)

I was going to suggest Kasabian but them being a sub-headliner in 2023 now makes me doubt that.

 

Saying that people are talking up quick returns for Fender and the '75 after they also did TRNSMT in 2023 so pfft.

Unless Healy's habits are astronomical, I cannot imagine they are that broke.

 

Although the At Their Very Best run probably wasn't the cheapest to stage.
