West Holts 2025

Personal preference but I think some acts feel “better” in certain positions.

Eg Kelis earlier on the main stage I wouldn’t have missed, but I didn’t fancy her for my headliner when she topped WH.

Think Chaka would kill a Pyramid slot 3rd or 4th down, but doubt she’d get the crowd as a WH headliner.

I could be talking rubbish of course 🤣

Yeah, I get what you mean. Some bands get filtered out the higher up you look and decisions need to be made!

After their Glastonbury 2024 performances, I'd be optimistic the Zawose Queens would get a slot on WH

They were brilliant! Saw them at Croissant Neuf (I think).

Lots of shouts for Chaka but I think if it was ever going to happen it would've been this year.

I suppose I would replace her with The Libertines or Cypress Hill

..and put Neneh Cherry and Omar Souleyman into the mix  😉

That would be a great shout. Thought of Wind Rose as well, inspired by Tolkien's, dwarven metal 😅

Ah, they of Diggy diggy hole fame! Absobloodylutely!

Would love Fab Freddy’s Drop on West Holts. I’d put them down as potential headliners but they are subbing for The Saw Doctors at Beautiful Days which makes me wonder if they’d have to accept a slot lower down the lineup.

I could see them subbing on West Holts, but headlining might be a push. They'd be a guaranteed good time, wherever.

At BDs this year, are FFD worth a look?

I'd strongly recommend. You might love their music, you might simply find it inoffensive, but somehow they're just a happiness machine. Seen them many times and never disappoint.

Berlioz* has just dropped his debut album of headsy jazz- house mash-ups.

Seeing a few comparisons to artists like BCS, but going back a bit further there's definitely a bit of a St Germain vibe.

* Not the Gallic Romantic composer and conductor

Chaka Khan headline slot.  This year was a missed open goal for the fest IMO and as a Holts headliner, she'd be an all timer.

Dionne Warwick (pipedream probably).

Jalen Ngonda as he completely flew under my radar this year and apparently has a new album in pipeline so a return in 25 might not be a stretch.

Nile/Chic always entertains and it's been 11 years since they headlined Holts, which was a classic.

RTJ (or Killer Mike solo)/Pharcyde/Busta I'd be here for without doubt.  Not sure how likely or how active they are?

Curveball - would a Eurythmics set grace the Holts stage as headliner or too big?  Probably better suited to high up Other/Pointo instead.

Plus - as they always seem to deliver - 1 to 3 acts I didn't know before, who blow me away once I hear them on Spotify.

This is the bit that people always forget when they do their predictions and it's why most are always pipe dreams. There will always be some excellent sh*t that you have never heard of on there.

Berlioz would be a treat, love their work.

Also a punt on Caribou in a headline slot. Their sub slot in 2015 is one of my best Glasto memories and Dan's usually there regardless.

I know Killer Mike is in Bristol for Massive Attacks Clifton Downs gig in late Aug, and the Pharcyde just did a few dates in March (I think?) with Lords of the underground, and are doing a few more come August with De La Soul. Not too sure about Busta though

Aphex Twin, would he be too big for WH? I've seen him a few times, including a headline slot at Primavera, and people are pretty rabid for him. Though can understand how he might alienate a crowd on the Other
