M and S and Tesco announcing bumper Christmas sales. I thought the economy was broken and nobody had any money?
If we go back a few months, this kind of news would be greeted with the quote ‘the plan is working’.
Not sure! We got down to the coach station as early as we were ready (probably about 09:00-09:30 at a guess), and then had to wait around until 13:15 with no shelter until we were able to get our way onto an earlier coach (they scanned our tickets so was dreading being denied boarding until our "proper" coach arrived). So I guess it was worth it because the weather held, but would you be wanting to hang around for hours just in hope if the weather is poor?
They did scan our tickets, so presumably at least checking if our destination was correct if not the time. If the coach is half-empty you might blag your way on but who knows? One issue is that you have no idea also which is the last coach - the 13:30 coach could have been the last coach to Leeds for all I know so if it was full you'd be scuppered waiting around for another coach that never comes. As it happens, that one was only half full so you might've been OK. It depends if you can take the risk?
