Supernintendo Chalmers
Same as every year. Forget about the outside world. See my friends. Dance until sunrise at the Temple. Anything and anybody else is a bonus.

CharlotteB Posted yesterday at 03:17 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:17 PM I really wouldn't know what to put on a bucket list. I think I've done just about everything I want to do, including get up onto the Pyramid Stage 🤘 maybe befriend a celebrity? 🤣

I've known people who've done that and had success..

Contrary to what one might imagine he was polite, quiet, intelligent and interesting. stuie Posted yesterday at 05:08 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:08 PM Completed one of my Glasto bucket list items this year by finding and getting in to the Guerilla private members club, with my friend Jamal on the Sunday night. Until then, it was a place that only existed in people's stories and it's not on any map. I have my membership card for next year too 🙂

Not a celebrity but I was in the Tuesday night Tow and Hitch queue with Jumping John of Ozric Tenticles fame. He was a very funny and charming bloke. Saw him on the pyramid stage at my 1st festival back in '95.

mjtko
9 minutes ago, lendan said: Just 1 on my list for this year - making the sunrise at the stone circle or the Glastonbury sign I was at the Glastonbury sign at sunrise on Thursday morning this year, was quite surprised there was almost nobody else around. Unfortunately it was also cloudy as the dawn broke. It was still pretty magical though, especially as a first timer and having wanted to do a sunrise at the sign for many, many years. Will be trying again this year hoping for a cloudless sunrise... Maybe see you there! Other items on my bucket list off the top of my head: * Glasto-on-Sea -- never made it to the area somehow. * Ascent of the Ribbon Tower -- never got round to it! * Finding the underground piano bar would be ace, but I strongly suspect I would have to be properly lucky to achieve this. * Watching a headliner on Pyramid -- none of them grabbed me this year. Hoping for something great this time round. So much to do, four-and-a-half-days didn't seem quite seem long enough!
Avalon_Fields
Definitely plan to do one new thing each time I go, over recent year's it's included volunteering, the Crow's Nest, Lost Horizons, a treatment in the Healing Fields, getting into crew bars, Cinerarmageddon, and so on... Only been once in 2023 and watched GNR and Elton, so that’s a tick for us. ribbon tower would be good at some point. we’ve done glasto on sea which was great, went on the Saturday. Weds & Thurs was very busy.

You'll generally find more people at Kings Meadow / Stone Circle for sunrises than you will above The Park, by the Glastonbury sign. It's the go to place for chilling, chatting, bonding and spiritual awakenings if you're that way inclined. Dare I say on here, lots of people go there to smoke too! There's more atmosphere and not as much camping near by so you get the occasional sound system / pop up parties too. If the weather is on side, Monday morning can be the busiest. Seems like a good time to repost one of my fave Glasto videos... 🙂

But while ever I can still manage it I'll be attending the festival, I am a youngster compared with it's founder! 😂 Surely the park isn't renowned for being one for the kids though? So, you have at least been to the The Park area since 2013? Just not seen anything on the stage? Sorry, I just can't fathom the possibility! If I get a ticket I should maybe just work on my observation!! I'd also like to see a band at the Crow's nest

It’s hidden off the access track for backstage Shangri-La La, specifically Truth Stage. Entry is effectively by invite only as you need a members card to get in. Having disabilities makes it difficult for some areas, pre 2022 I struggled with a walking pole getting worse year after year. I now hire a mobility scooter and you have to pick your places carefully. The last thing you want is to get stuck in a crowd as they are not mobility scooter friendly. I tend to stick to Acoustic, Avalon, Pyramid, West Holts, Other Pyramid and Woodsies. 😊

I didn't go in the end, but was thinking of maybe just pitching up at The Park all day on at least one of the day as it's so badly connected but the lineup was great (and it's a great wee area) I hope you make it down next year 🙂

Looks to be a regular thing now I might get there in 2025! Are you back next year?
Pipine
I had a lot of success with my bucket list last year, finally getting into the temple for a dance, getting back to my favourite place - NYC Downlow - after years of epic queues, revisiting Genosys. I think this year needs to feature seeing a set at the Crows nest, maybe getting right under the dragonfly.. I’d love to get on the stage at the pyramid but I missed out on a chance of that back in the 90s and I can’t see me getting a second shot!
