I have been told a certain weekend band from nyc are headlining one of the days, with ldp subbing

Great intel - are we sure it's NYC? Vampire Weekend, Strokes and LCD feel slightly too big for Truck. Could it be someone like Haim with LDP subbing?

oh wow, well that's an exciting pull for the festival considering they were an exclusive headliner at Primavera last year

Let us know if you get any other 'hints'

Sorry i'm being stupid with abbreviations today

VP = Vampire Weekend?

VW are a good get - but they aren't actually that big here so not too crazy to be honest. Not massively bigger than some of the other recent headliners.

They've had big glasto slots but like they are doing i think 20k (4 x 5k) in london and its not sold out next month.

They also did that complete one off end of the road headline set for example in 2018

Who is LDP?

Hard to guess the headliner - google says Liberal Democratic party 😂

edit - last dinner party

Surely vampire weekend, strokes too big, interpol bit out there for truck

Vampire Weekend is a great booking for them - probably one of the best acts they've had! exciting if true

VW with TLDP subbing is alright. The Strokes would play if they got given the money they want, it's that simple for them. They played Lytham that isn't huge for that exact reason.

The Strokes are a fair step above anything Truck has ever booked

VW and TLDP is a great duo

Vampire Weekend is a great start but it just gives me a feeling that the rest of the headliners will be Courteeners/Kaiser Chiefs.

Agreed lol. Can hope for something decent off Kendal i guess

Kendal always does well and always will, their festival is by the Lake District giving people a reasons to tick off two in one. It's always the quickest selling out of all of those. Their early birds are usually gone before they've even announced a band. 1hr 30 from Manchester as well with Courteeners booked, just no interest in them at all. Truth be told they are probably the biggest booking for them on the bill.

Ah fair enough, I'll be honest as a default I love live bands over DJs in general and when I seen VW a few years back they blw me away.

Nearly everyone has told me Fat Boy Slim will be well worth going to see so depending on how the line up falls I'll probably give him a chance come the Saturday night.

Truck is the most strictly indie of the superstruct festivals - and FBS has been doing some pretty big shows recently.

If he skips one it will be Truck i think

Yeah I mean we can't just say Fatboy Slim isn't the sizeable booking when he's recently done arenas and sold very well. Right now he's as popular as he's been for a while...he isn't just seen as the going through the motions dj currently. He has his own tent promotion I believe at Creamfields too instead of just subbing a main stage again. I think he'll get his biggest slot at Glastonbury for sometime, maybe not Other but I could see him getting WHs.

That sounds pretty exciting, I never considered that they may go for an oversea act.

I would be a little surprised if The Last Dinner Party were not there in some sort of slot as I think with Wet Leg last year they are trying to make an effort. I would be super pleased if it is Vampire Weekend as recently sold my tickets to see them in December as I got tickets for the Mark Lanagan tribute gig and they clashed.

Oh yeah, I don't doubt Fat Boy Slim is big enough for these sorts of festivals at all. The comment about him and Vampire Weekend was purely my personal preference

I never said he's not the sizeable booking though.

I said of the superstruct fests, Truck is the most indie focused (and smallest) and therefore less likely to go for him.

He would be a sizeable booking and as such - less likely! The money would be better spent elsewhere. If he was cheap like a few years ago and was the 3rd headliner it would be much more likely.
