Headliners: Nothing But Thieves, Courteeners, Kasabian

Thursday: Bloc Party

Subs: Blossoms, The Last Dinner Party, Franz Ferdinand

Other: Wunderhorse, CMAT

If Bloc Party were instead of NBT so not requiring an extra Thursdah ticket that could be a goer with a Courteeners alternative. It's not the only option that Bloc Party and TLDP are going to fon though.

100% big enough, daft to think otherwise

I mean, Nothing but Thieves did 2 nights at Wembley Arena last year and drew a healthy crowd to their set at Glasto a few months back. So I'd say they're in the ballpark for a smaller end festival like this one.

If it's true they've been roped in to be a UK exclusive, that's quite interesting going too.

When I went to Truck in 2019, they were subbing Wolf Alice and drew a very decent crowd for it, many of whom knew and moshed along. Even if I left 2/3rds of the way through to see Public Service Broadcasting.

My opinion on this lineup:

Bloc party: Very strong Thursday can’t wait to see them.

NBT: I love their music but wasn’t sure they would be big enough to headline,

I may be wrong though.

Courteeners: Saw them at victorious were amazing can’t wait to see them again

Kasabian: Very strong headliner, favourite part of the lineup

Blossoms, Last dinner party: Very good subs considering blossoms headlined Thursday 3 years ago

Franz Ferdinand: Why are they this low down???? It’s good but I’m confused

I've seen all 9 acts named before and some of them like NTB, Blossoms & Kasabian 10+ times, so very happy with the line up.

I find Bloc Party an odd Thursday headliner, not because they are not worthy of the top line but more that Thursday audience does seem to attract the youngest crowd with many older people doing the 3 day option.

Do young people like Bloc Party or even know who they are? I know thats a generalisation, I just thought they could have picked better options for the Thursday either a newer band or if an old act, one with a few rowdy bangers.

Not that I really care as I am old and doing all 4 days and know I will enjoy Bloc Party. Prety sure there are lots of kids with good taste who will appreciate Bloc Party but also feel they will do very little for any youngsters who just want to drink and have a good sing along to huge tunes while having a bit of a mosh.

I think Kasabian ars just a standard sized booking for this festival.

Bloc Part on the Thursday would almost put me off it as I don't want to spend 4 days on it.

I'd argue that they're around standard for the Truck/Tramlines/YNot circuit, but they're almost always going to be the festival's biggest act of the year (except for the fact that Tramlines finally pulled off Pulp this year)

They're not quite as big as they were in 2014, but they sold out their recent arena run - Playing all the same venues as Charli XCX is this month, who is currently considered to be of a mega pop star

I’ll probably be the ‘outsider’ here but I find the headliner choice quite unimaginative and playing it safe.

Courteeners have headlined before so they can easily take that slot, but they play pretty much every festival now, so it’s nothing special . For me, when they played alongside George Ezra and Friendly Fires, the trio was more exciting.

I didn’t realise NBT are big enough to headline to be honest. I haven’t seen them for years , but the last time I saw them they were halfway down the line up at Finsbury Park.

Kasabian also a very standing booking, but big enough to headline for sure.

id like to think I know Bloc Party but in reality the only song I’d know is Flux.

for me the Truck line Ups from 2018/2019 haven’t been topped . However it’s a personal preference thing. Put together with the undercard, it’s going to be a solid line up, but it just feels a bit unimaginative for me .

I guess the Streets (this year's headliner) supporting Kasabian (next year's headliner) on that recent arena tour is another way of suggesting that they're towards the bigger end of what Truck could book.

2019's was superb tbf. So it's not necessarily an embarrassing thing to struggle to top that one.

I'm holding out to see what's on the undercard before deciding if I want to jump in to this one, which would be for a 4 day as I like Bloc Party. As said, I actually would've preferred Courteeners to be the Thursday act as I'm the least enthused by them of the chosen 4.

That's fair. I wouldn't have touched either 18 or 19. I don't think of those collection of festivals Y Not 23 can be matched easily. If we're taking Victorious out if it, 3 headliners that could all sub Glastonbury

Kasabian have been on an upward trajectory again, and can see them as a bigger headliner again before long. They're a good get, even if they're, as said, bit of a standard at the moment.

I mean they did it 3 years ago when they were still figuring out how the project works with Serge as a frontman. Judging by YouTube clips of the recent arena shows, they do look like they've got a bit of the swagger back and they went down well in their Glastonbury surprise spot. So yeah. Maybe not back in to their peak around 48:13 ten years ago, but still decent players.

Y Not 23 did well to land that tbf.

I wish I saw Kasabian a bit more but Yonaka were a great watch and weather was very meh. I'd had enough by then that night. Definitely one of my muddiest fests. It was very close between Y Not and Victorious. I think Kendal booking Blossoms as headliners was weak that year but because of it being in the lakes and it sells quickly every year they can get away with it.

Saw Kasabian the other night at the O2 and its the best they have been with Serge as front man. They have clearly gone up a notch from the first few years of New Kasabian. I can't lie every gig I saw with Tom was miles better but they seem to have found a new swagger and interestingly a new following of very young fans.

There were loads of families at the O2 with kids/teenagers decked out in Sergio Tacchini track suit tops loving it as much as their parents, plus lots of groups of young lads. I think they have had a bit of a second wind and new fans who may not remember seeing Tom and comparing as older fans do. So, I feel they have found a new following and will be around for a long time and regulars at these size festivals.

Bloc Party in the tent at Tramlines 2 years ago had plenty of youngsters, up against Richard Ashcroft mind. And they're headlining Live at Leeds at Temple Newsam, which has a mix of young and old

In my 50's and my pogoing and moshing days are well and trully in the past. My festivals days now include lot's of sitting down, standing with my arms folded, foot taping, nodding or politly clapping. I have not quiet reached the walking around with my hands behind my back stage yet.

I still enjoy finding my new music and just do not understand how so many of my friends no longer go out of their way to listen to new music and experience new live acts. Oh well heir lost, I attend to keep going to festivals until I can't manage it. I have to admit, I always stay off site these days.

Kasabian are quite dull on record, to me, but having not seen them live, I've only heard increasingly good things under Serge.

Ultimately, that's the gist, isn't it? If you've got the big singalongs - and you can deliver them live - then you're safe as houses as a festival act. Hope they give everyone a rollicking night.

They put on a big show for sure. Saw them headline Y Not a couple of years ago. I've enjoyed them more in indoor mud-sized venues with Tom, but that's just my preference.
