BST 2025

I guess if they announce Olivia it kinda confirms she is likely at Glastonbury.

I was half expecting Fender to get announced for this as it must be on his bucket list. Saw him open the main stage on the unbranded Bob Dylan/Neil Young (BST) date. It must be on his radar to come back one day and headline a show.

I  agrea with others the lineups have changed dramatically over the last years from what they used to be.

He may be doing it but I really doubt he's that arsed about it, its just a park in London (which he has done at Finsbury - which has a better atmosphere!)

Wonder if they would do it anymore - the BST business model with about a million different vip tiers seems quite against what they have been doing recently regarding ticket prices etc.

Their pricing does not sound very Bob, although I read that the last time he played BST it went so well with rave reviews etc that he almost called it a day. He has referenced that show alot and sounds like an experience he looks back on fondly.

So even if they don't play soon, I was wondering if that is in his long term plan, to finish at Hyde Park maybe not even a BST show. I do think when they finish playing it may be a big final show some place and most likely London. A big outdoor show or maybe the Royal Albert Hall.

Although do the BST promoters have an exclusivity for Hyde Park concerts?

Tbf it was first come first serve when I went to BSTHP to see Green Day and The Killers in 2017 and I thought it was also that way for Kings of Leon this year unless I missed something.

Yes - it's very locked in on a couple of layers.

AEG have a contract that gives them exclusive rights to promote concerts Hyde Park, which they use to put on BST.

Separately, there's also a licencing limit on the number of concerts that are allowed to take place at Hyde Park annually (7 at 65,000 capacity plus 2 at 50,000 capacity), which is maxed out by the 3 BST weekends

Basically, the only way a non-BST show could take place is with the consent of AEG, and it'd have to be instead of one of the BST event days.

I went to Green Day and The killers but can't remember what the arrangement was and never went down the front. However, paid an extra £20ish this year for KOL upgrade to golden circle. I received an email a few days before the event offering me an upgrade, As it seemed a lot cheaper then most Golden Circle offers, I decided to go for it.

I have no idea if they decided to keep the Golden Circle tickets cheapish or they tried to sell them at a high price and never shifted enough and so offered them cheap to people with standard tickets. I think I got the offer as an AMEX card holder.

Ah I wasn't aware the Kings of Leon show this year had such a provision. I admit I didn't research thoroughly because I decided to go to Leeds instead having considered Birmingham, Manchester or their set as part of the British Grand Prix F1 race at Silverstone more than London.

It's certainly something that is starting to creep in tbf. Green Day had a paid-for golden circle at their own shows this year and I gather this is remaining for their European tour next summer.

I thought AEG had such an exclusivity. So yeah, I think if The Cure wanted to do a big park show that wasn't under the BST banner, it'd have to be Finsbury or Gunnersbury.
