no hype whatsoever on social media , even though i think she was deserving of headlining. there are still tickets available or combo day tickets. If she was a huge name she would at least sellout the day 1 tickets at this point.

Bands like red hot took months to sell out and are way bigger than Rodrigo.
you just have nonsense expectations…

maybe but can u tell me with a straight face that LCD+Justice or Sabrina and Chappell would be good selling day for Alive?

I would have thought that I'd like them. They were a bit meh for me.

I have to agree with some other posters though, the 2nd Stage is normally pretty stacked. I thought last year was a bit of a mixed bag, but on (I think) the middle day I could have stayed there all day (and pretty much did)

Hmmm? What happened with Pearl Jam last year is not usual, it was an exception. Arctic Monkeys played NOS Alive three times, every one of them sold out, and everytime it took months.

Maybe 2 from: Sam Fender, Depeche Mode, Twenty one Pilots, Eminem, Greenday, New Order, Paramore, Metallica.

Subheadliners: Fontaines DC, Jonny Marr, Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, Libertines, Prodigy.

And maybe i guess incorrect on all of them, then i have no clue whatsoever

If we get a decent mix from there, I'd be pretty satisfied, not fussed with Eminem, 21P really. Any two from the rest I'd be happy with. I'd take everyone from line 2 (other than Libs) and be pretty happy

It happened also in 2018 when Pearl Jam played the festival.

Yeap! Sabrina sold out her arena tour in just two weeks, and Chappell also has huge crowds supporting her.

That you don’t like their music is completely understandable; I was happy when they weren’t on the Primavera Porto lineup. But denying their influence and growth in 2024 is just denying reality.

Even Primavera Barcelona is almost sold out (3-day pass). Last year, it only sold out Lana's day, and that was in late December. The last time the entire 3-day pass sold out was in 2022, during a very special edition, the first one after COVID.

Anyway, there’s no point in discussing this, since we have no way of proving who’s right or wrong.

sabrina wouldnt sell out MEO arena or at least wouldnt be a fast sell out. Chappell couldnt sell out MEO arena.

its not about liking their music,Olivia as an example , i dont like but i totally can see her headlining NOS Alive. She sold out 2 nights at MEO arena in less than 48 hours i think (even 24 i guess)

You have so many great bands in Europe this summer and no one is coming to Portugal (sigur ros , offspring , linkin park , green day , alanis , slipknot , rise against , me first & the gimme gimmies , sum 41 , robbie , bruce , billie eilish , ed sheeran just of the top of my head) that only shows me the local promoters are not doing their job right.

i know some of these wouldnt of course headline NOS ALive but its just an example of how poorly portuguese promoters are booking bands/artists next year

Olivia took weeks to sell out…

slipknot are most likely coming to evil live

sum 41 will not even be a band by next summer..

no festival in Portugal has a full line up announced, still plenty of chance for many acts to come.
and yes Sabrina could very well, sell out meo arena

Chapell most likely could too.

times are changing

so get with it or get out of the f**kin way.

It's not fair to say she's not a worthy headliner just because it hasn't sold out by now.

A lot of people would wait for a few more names to decide whether they want to buy a 3-day ou a 1-day ticket, even if they're certain they'll be there for Olivia.

She's one of the biggest artists in the world right now, and so are Sabrina and Chappell, and all of them are way more relevant than Muse/Green Day these days (and I'm a fan of both).

Like João said, times change, and they can't keep recycling old headliners, it's unsustainable

Tell me when sabrina or chappell are playing stadiums or places with 50/60k people like green day did this year

But as i said i dont like Olivia but she´s a credible Headliner for NOS Alive.

for me its just bad booking like i said above , you have so many great artists/bands in europe and not even one comes to portugal and u have sh*t like Tate McRae that Ritmos & Blues just announced coming to MEO Arena or Maluma or whatever his name his coming over instead of real big names. its unacceptable

Guess people like sh*tty music nowadays , thats all

Whilst I am open to giving people a go as a headliner, everything I have heard and seen about Chapel Roan makes me believe that their entire fan base is absolutely insufferable. They seem to be pretty sound, hate the fame and everything that goes with it and are absolutely sure that they are not anyone's idol - so fair play.

All that being said, I absolutely understand that a lot of "new" music isn't for me, that festivals have to move with the times and that no longer can I expect big events to cater to me, a 50 year old bloke who thinks it is still the 90s.

All THAT being said, can we get The Cure on the road next year and have them play the festival. Chuck in a few late 90s early 2000s bands and then we can all be happy 🙂

Could Muse save NOS at this point?

after losing Green Day and Linkin Park...i dont know how can headline those 2 days

Are Green Day definitively not doing NOS? They have nothing booked after going to Athens for Ejekt Festival the week before NOS.

The dream for me is a Muse/Paramore double, which having written it off might not be impossible given Muse are more active than I assumed and Paramore are meant to be releasing new music next year judging by whispers I've heard. But that feels unlikely to have them as a one/two anywhere, except perhaps for one of the bigger budget options.

If nothing else, Muse having not done NOS in 10 years while being big enough in 2019 to borrow the NOS site for their own show and drawing a decent crowd in 2022 when they were Foos' replacements at Rock in Rio hints there's enough of a fanbase in Portugal for them.

Ive lost all faith at the portuguese promoters after today to be honest, how can u not book linkin park which are probably the most wanted band next year and announce a sh*tty indie band no one give a f**k about on the same day🤦‍♂️

Muse could probably be one of the headliners and it would be a great name to get but as i said im not getting my hopes up.

Green day has a clear schedule but it seems odd for NOS to have them booked and not announce them.

Watch them bring regatton and other sh*t into the festival 🤣🤣🤣🤣  in the name of diversity 🙄

They did a 17 show tour of Europe earlier this year and are currently on 13. So maybe there's room for 2/3 more.

I agree it is strange if they are booked but are yet to be announced given Werchter, Download, Hurricane and Ejekt among others already have shown their hand. But it's not over until it's over.

Linkin Park must clearly have had a better offer to book Paris SDF for that weekend instead.

I'm not sure portuguese promoters failed to book Linkin Park, there's a big chance Rock in Rio has them booked for 2026 and doesn't let them play here before that

With your username im guessing hopeful for a Muse appearance?

I'd rather a trip to Mad cool but they have played there more recent than Nos, just like the format of the stages and times.

My hope is Green Day and Muse!
what a line up it would be!

(for me personally)

😅 I wouldn't mind, but I've fallen a bit out of love with them in the past years and I've seen them plenty of times already.

Not sure who I'd rather have, though. But from those mentioned, Paramore, Justice or Chappell Roan would make me happy (although they're not really headliner-sized acts). And I'd add Fred again to the mix, if he's around
