NOS Alive 2025

Mumfords are playing in the US at a festival running from 18th - 20th July. I'm not sure if that makes them more or less likely to appear. Finish up in Europe with a show on 13th July, fly out and do the US leg of the tour.

In the more column, they are definitely playing live shows in July
In the less column, they are in the US the week after NOS, it's obviously manageable but would they be more likely to be in the US than Europe the week before?

I would say less likely, maybe they'll be exclusives for Nos and Mad Cool, but I think if they gonna do European shows this summer it's more likely they gonna do some in August.

There's still a few festivals around that late June/early July (Hurricane, Roskilde, Open'er, Nos, MC etc) who have a definite gap at the top of the poster for a band like Mumford to turn up. Wouldn't be unheard of that they do a short 3-4 week tour of the festivlas they didn't hit in 2023 when they briefly re-appeared and then pop off back to America

Would Roskilde still book something like Mumford?

Hurricane already got it's main headliner, I wouldn't expect anything as big as mumford joining the line up, and once the festival takes place they are already in the states anyways. Yes they could play opener as well and it's not unheard off, but it's still unlikely.

I think of they gonna tour Europe they'll be more likely to do rock en seine, sziget, pukkelpop etc

I'm uncertain they would, just looking at festivals that have gaps that need filling. But they have one of the most varied line ups in terms of genre every year so it wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah I don't know if they'd be there but this is a festival which has had the likes of Arctic Monkeys/Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters/The Cure playing the same day in the last 10 years so it wouldn't surprise me if they appear at the top of that first day.

I definitely think they'll be about this year with a new album out, it's just a question of when

The reason that Mumford makes the most sense at the moment is because other acts in the discussion all feel like they would have already been announced.

Muse, Justin Timberlake, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Linkin Park, Green Day etc - why would any of these need to be kept secret?

I wonder if it's someone completely from left field; maybe Tyler the Creator or something?

Yeah that's it, we've been chatting Mumford this morning but it could quite easily be another act with a tour still to announce. Or indeed, they're still negotiating...

Some acts would do that kind of quickfire turnaround from Europe to America. The question is whether or not Mumford's touring history indicates they're an act that would do that.

Would be all for NIN headlining the Heineken stage if they're there, or subbing the NOS stage. Not a huge fan but they'd be a good show I'd imagine.

What else is everyone expecting to see announced this week?

Would love to see some good midcarders like Kneecap, The Dare, Neck Deep - something like that. And if I'm allowed to dream how about a BBNO$ on the main or Don Broco on the second stage.
