Ive had a great time both years Ive attended, but theres nothing wrong with having some f**king standards. You wanna say youre the best in the world then give me the best in all areas. Nothing wrong with setting the bar to a certain level. If they meet or exceed it then they did their job.

I can't imagine the -noise- that must be inside your head

I agree but in the years I’ve been there’s been huge progress . I remember standing in the other stage field back around 2005 and the slightest gust of wind the sound would be lost … it’s so much better now if a little bassy for me at times … installations like the helicopter are phenomenal in their own right . Glastonbury is a little way behind some of the corperate festivals because of how it distributes its money . But bloody hell imagine all those people it’s helped over the years … sorry divulged a bit here … back to tips

Re the quality of the sound I’m with you, it’s definitely got quieter in general and in some cases noticeably worse (e.g. WH). You really shouldn’t be able to hear people having a conversation 10 rows back at a large stage. Shambala had a new venue this year, possibly the best sound I’ve heard at a festival and they’ve got nowhere near the budget of Glastonbury.

production wise theyre still mid. Sound is still shite overall so thats a negative in my book. Too bad they cant spend money in that area for another 5 years.

Can't argue with the production point (the budget just doesn't stretch that far) but I've been to many a festival around the world that's been style over substance. Gimme the vibe of the Temple over nearly any venue of any global festival and that's just a bunch of scaffold and plywood. Unrivaled buzz when it goes off in there

Get this thread back on tickets

To anyone who is planning on testing the new queue without any interest in coach tickets

How long will you hang around before those of us who want coach tickets have a clue what is happening ?

Absolutely this. Coachella might have wraparound screens and better sound but it can f**k off with its rows of regimented lawn chairs and golden circles. Where’s their helicopter rave installation? Losers.

We will all be on the coach sale regardless of whether we actually want a ticket, testing out this new system, so really we should do it in a cohesive manner.

The majority of us will only be in the coach sale to help others in our already established groups. Do you really want to spoil your chances for Sunday by being IP address blocked for being a bot?  😟

So it seems the biggest unknown is the ip limit / bot detection.

Here's an idea, how about if we set up groups for the coach sale to test this new system?

Say groups of 5 with set number of browsers/sessions

Group 1, 4 browsers

Group 2, 6 browsers

Group 3.........

Then report back with feedback/success.

We will all be on the coach sale regardless of whether we actually want a ticket, testing out this new system, so really we should do it in a cohesive manner.

Do we really need to 'test' the system?

There will be enough talk on here on thursday night about how it was/what it looked like/any issues. It's hard enough as it is getting tickets, everybody logging on and rubbernecking is just going to make it more frustrating for the people clamouring for very limited coach tickets.

Those that have no intention of actually buying any tickets should stay the f**k off the site.

I can't imagine most will hang around long, pop in see how it works to get the page to get in the queue and then once in queue leave.

So for THursday is could be  amassive queue that then goes down really fast after 5 mins.

I will be there helping people in our group, hopefully.

I'd whole heartedly disagree. The sound is the best I've heard at any music festival across the board, the Martin rigs are the Rolls Royce omwirhin the industry

Yeah, I'd agree with that.  The limitations are more to do with sound monitoring and restrictions, along with juggling 100 sound systems in a valley!

2023, first and only time (yet!) and was blown away by the clarity and volume on many of the stages. That War on Drugs gig will live long in the memory. I put on Indie gigs for years in the noughties, our sound man only used Martin kit, amazing stuff

Okay i know you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet but can you block by pass the queue system using adblock? or wouldn't this work?

My understanding is that it would have worked, years ago.

But not anymore.

We don’t want coach tickets so won’t access the site even if there’s a temptation to try it out. No use in clogging up the ticket sale out of curiosity. I’m sure plenty who are wanting coach tickets will post their experiences on here, how many were successful, did multiple devices work etc etc.

yep indeed … I’ll be doing a live trial of bus .. and attempting the tickets as will many on my group we will feed any knowledge gained back to here although I’ll likely be in panic mode and not remember how or what gets through … if anything

Same....any testing I do on Thursday will only be as genuine pursuit of coach tickets for group members who need them.

does anyone know how the Queue-it system hands off to the Seetickets servers?

ie whats stopping people going directly to the seeticket backend servers and bypassing queue-it completely?

At a guess It will be by token, you will be given a token which will allow you to access the page, the token is set to expire. If you complete the purchase the token is then set to expired.

haha yes done it myself, before I returned to Oxfam.  I got through and got coach tickets for friends and then we didn't get the general ones on the Sunday! that was a long winter waiting for the resale.  Done Oxfam ever since 🙂

Seetickets won't give you a session unless you've been through Queue-It.....the system checks that.  Simple as.
